Shoaib Malik has already been confirmed as an opener by the Coach & Vice Captain.And if he doesn't click,then Pakistan would be forced to try Saleem Elahi or Shahid Yousuf at that spot & even Bangladesh would not like to have an out of form & utter crap like Taufeeq Umar in their team.Beleg said:

WEll thats why England are playing 3 test matches there, that way they will be playing 6 innings and that would give Pakistani bowlers a much better chances of getting 20 English wicketsvandemataram said:

Also Pakistan need to play with 5 bowlers, the team proposed by Beleg seems very weak to me.That team has only 4 bowers, of which 2 happen to be injury prone bowlers in Shabbir and Akhtar.
I would definately like to see Pak playing with a fifth bowler in the team in form of Malik or Afridi.

I think Pakistan will go with Malik and Yasir Hameed to start off. Malik will fail opening though, and then Salman Butt will be brought in.

I've heard Shabbir Ahmed may be left out of the X1 to accomodate Gul.
