Yet Strauss and co described the wickets like the one he played on in England!!Scaly piscine said:It's about time the ICC stepped in, these pitches are ridiculous and unfair to England. There's no way you'd get away with pitches like these in county cricket.
If its not the pitch, then they will get a different excuse to whine at, i can assure you thatsteds said:I don't care about the point. People constantly whinging about the pitches is really annoying.
To be honest it should be embaressing for the so called "potential number one team" of the world. The Englishmen struggled not because of messed up pitch (as suggested by some fans here) but becsue of lack of application shown by their batsmen in the matches (as stated by Strauss). Tres scored a ton in the first match and England are doing better in second innings, which shows that runs are possible on the pitch if batsmen really applys themselves.simmy said:Its pathetic really to be honest...
Embarassing for Pakistani cricket. 18 wickets in a day! That is ridiculous.
To be fair I think it is a minority (of 1, who moans about anything not from the North East anyway)Dasa said:What's with all the whinging about the pitch?

That's a very nice speech and someone had to make it. Predictably, it was you.Shoaib said:I know the psychology of English Nation. In the past, when their batsmen didn't have talent to play the reverse swingers of great Sarfaraz Nawaz & googlies of legendary Abdul Qadir, they used to blame umpires for being unfair with them.In 1992,when their batsmen had no answer to reverse swingers & yorkers of the two legends i.e Wasim & Waqar ,they started propogating through their media that the 2Ws r ball temperers (now in 2005,when their bowlers have didturbed many australian batsmen with the same art, they have been given the title of "great bowlers" by the same English media). In 2000,when their captain saw the series ending in no result, their captain accused Moin Khan to have intentionally slow down the over rate .Now in 2005,when they see their batsmen having no answer to the bowling of Yasir Arafat,Najaf Shah & Mohammad Asif, they r accusing us for preparing sub-standard pitches.I think every individual of the English Nation should write an application to the ICC that whichever country their cricket team visits, the pitches should be prepared according to their own wishes suiting their batsmen.
Listen to yourself - if you carry on like this you're going to look very stupid if and when England win this Test series.Shoaib said:I know the psychology of English Nation.
If that happens then the whining fans would end up looking extremely stupid!Barney Rubble said:Anyway, England are 80-odd for 2 in the 2nd innings, so they might make 350 this innings and we'll all shut up.
As far as I can tell, there are two people whining about the state of the pitch (and the majority of the English supporters find it as tedious as the rest of you) - and an awful lot of idiots whining about the whining.Choora said:If that happens then the whining fans would end up looking extremely stupid!
One thing i don't understand, even when England wins, the whining just doesn't stop!!
Collingwood 60 off 67Choora said:Its actually 122-2 with both Strauss and Collingwood making 50+ scores.
Runs comming on nicely now that Englishmen batting carefully and that Mohd Asif is not being asked to bowl.
4 sixes - he was caught off the first but the fielder carried the ball over the ropes (Brad Cheaty-Hodge plays for Pakistan 'A'?).Pratyush said:Collingwood 60 off 67
So he is batting very agressively or punishing the loose balls. Strauss is batting quite normally at 3 an over.
More than two actually.luckyeddie said:As far as I can tell, there are two people whining about the state of the pitch.

Vaughan a doubt for the first test - injured his knee.
I's only the usual suspects, though (the reason I probably don't notice is it's difficult to tell the difference between their normal everyday whining and subject-specific whining).Pratyush said:More than two actually.
I guess that coz they are now facing the spinners.Pratyush said:Collingwood 60 off 67
