Cricinfo says: As well as the decisions and the blast that briefly disrupted play on an incident-filled day, umpires also spoke to Inzamam about some players running onto the pitch during the disruption in an effort, allegedly, to scuff up the pitch. From television replays, Shahid Afridi appeared to have been the culprit but Inzamam refused to elaborate. "The umpires told me about it but I didn't see who had done it. I don't know much about it so I can't comment on that further."
Sounds like the Surrey players with the ball tampering.

Difference being we all know who did it this time...

Come off it, it's far far far worse.
Wrong. Both cheated.

Afridi didn't even do a decent job of it. It was a minor scrape and was never going to really achieve anything.

He rotated his ankle about 5 degrees. What was the point?

More ****** news...I am seriously dissappointed with this officiating.

Shoaib Akhtar was also found guilty of a breach of the ICC's logo policy in a separate hearing conducted after play on Monday. He pleaded guilty to a breach of the Level 1 offence, 1.1 of the ICC Code, which relates to manufacturer's logos on equipment.

Both teams had been reminded of the regulations relating to manufacturer's logos before the Test series began, during the first Test match at Multan and prior to the start of the second Test, but despite that fact the logos around the wrist bands of each of Akhtar's gloves were found to be in breach of those regulations when he batted on Monday.

How?

Claiming a false catch has resulted in a wicket which shouldn't have been. What Afridi did may only result in one wicket - and as Mo Akram points out it would have done sod-all if he wasn't wearing spikes, and I don't know whether he was or not. Of course, Afridi could cause two wickets which shouldn't have been, we'll never know, but I find it highly unlikely.

For the record, I think both should be banned for 1 or 2 Tests.
You can't prove anything with Bell. There's no doubt whatsoever about the twinkle toed cheat who got off very lightly as expected. The message from cricket should be heard loud and clear, cheats do prosper.

You're probably the only person who considers him to have got off lightly.

Vaughn cheated by changing his field position during the delivery. He got off lightly.

Well. An uneventful little day's play, eh? :D

Thought the Inzi decision was a shocker. Not only because of the ignorance of the laws (to which I'll hold my hands up & I say I shared, but, hey, I'm not any kinda ump, much less an international one) but also because the slo-mo I saw wasn't 100% on his foot being up at the precise second the ball hit the stumps. Whatever happened to benefit of the doubt to the batter?

Hasan's ball to Vaughan was a corker (he's a fair bit nippier than I gave him credit for) but MPV might've played it a little better, beaten for pace! Bell looks to be in good touch (it's almost inconceivable that he might just be our best chance of a result in this match) and is playing Kaneria rather well. Show's what a genius Warne is too, 'cos he tied the lad in absolute knots this summer.

Disappointed to see Tres go just before the close, he looked unsettled by the explosion to me. The stump cam showed he moved pretty quickly when the canister went up! Not that I blame him, mind, think I'd have soiled my whites myself! :p

I also think Akmal's catch shows why I'm not calling for Bell's head myself just yet. I've absolutely no doubt that Akmal took Tres's edge cleanly, but the camera angle Sky used at least showed a smidge of doubt. I personally think it was far from conclusive that Bell took the ball on the bounce either.

& Afridi… Well, I never did. What on earth was he thinking? Put it down to a moment of madness and move on now he's got his ban.

yeh,i cant believ afridi did it,on his test re-call aswell.

it might sound odd,but if i was Vaughan,i would seriously consider giving up the captincancy,i think its doing too much to his batting, before he was captain his average was around 50(i think) but now he just doesn't look the same.

In my usual extravagantly positive self, Today would have been brilliant for us had Tres have been there at the end. However, it is still alright, I think to have a chance in this game, we need to be batting at stumps tomorrow. Now is the time for Bell to come to the fore, and Pietersen to show, just hgo good he is. Good pitch, but correct application is required, [something i thought Tres would provide]. If we are all out before stumps, i would say goodbye to the series, [well maybe not but i will be pretty close to giving up].

C'mon Bell and Pietersen, DIG DEEEEEPPP.

Whoever takes over would have the same problem. I just wish Vaughan could hide himself in the field a bit better so we don't have to suffer his awful catching ability.

that is honestly one of the greatest pieces of news, i have heard today. Abit silly though, considering they have us almost wrapped up.

maybe,maybe not.

I can't think of anyone else to give it too,but i just can't stand watching the once great vaughan bat like a fool.

i just can't see him winning many matches for England batting wise, and i don't think he'l ever be able to re-capture his 2003 form as captain.
