*OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

so...whose day
Honours even, England didn't get enough for me.

First session tomorrow is massive, if Pakistan come through that unscathed or even for the loss of 1 then they should be well placed to get a lead.

If England take 3 then it's England on top.

In the match, England are ahead just on virtue of Pakistan batting last. 170+ is going to be defendable.
Like you, I was hugely annoyed that Atkinson didn't get a dart at Shakeel. That was a chance to get them 4 down and staring down the barrel so to speak. Hopefully he gets a go tomorrow morning. Get him and Masood early tomorrow and it would be a huge step in the right direction.

Pakistan more or less on course to match England’s first innings total I’d say, so England still on top for me. Third innings could be a proper bunsen though, so England not out of the woods considering they struggle against spin

I read his father used to be a carpet seller? Wonder how many parvenus would deprive their kids of their inheritance/a posh upbringing. Seems like a petty snipe.
petty it maybe but cricket is a sport in the UK with a huge class divide and Crawley has undoubtedly benefited from his dads connections as much as any perceived level of talent.

Do you want him to beg for forgiveness for being born into a privileged family?

Just a quick word on Atkinson’s batting, granted he’s a number 8 or 9 and sometimes comes in with the brief being to score quickly with no regard for his wicket like the first Test, but that was the first innings he’s had of any sort of substance since his ton, I think it’s his second highest Test score now. Important little knock with England in the position they were in
