Pretty impressive in its own right that you're expecting innings of substance on a regular basis from a guy in his eighth Test and selected primarily as a bowler. Speaks volumes of his potential, a good situation to be in for a young cricketer.

Good knock from Atkinson but it felt like him and Smith didn't need to go into all out attack mode when they were cruising at a decent pace.

I mean, he'd have been disappointed with 3 single figure scores and a 14 since then!

A carpet fitter, I believe, then made money in the city as a trader. Either way, Crawley Jr is rich rather than posh. It will take another generation at least before he can be considered to be from the ‘right sort of family’.

Impressed with the ground DJ blasting out Oasis and ACDC songs in between overs which seems totally out of place in a test with stuff all people there.

On a slightly positive note it now means he doesn't add to his tally of dimissed in the nervous 90's
