It wasn’t really Bazball

The pitch was a road, weather was hot and bowlers got tired
They obviously played aggressively and incredibly well but I think you’re underestimating how good the conditions were for batting

The ball hardly did a thing for nearly 2 days with no swing, seam, bounce or turn

They “only” hit 5 sixes in total because there was no need to take big risks
I think you are desensitised to Bazball and not realising just how unique this. Not only was it the fourth highest score of all time, and still resulted in a win on a flat deck after the hosts scored 556, the scoring rate of 5.5 is the fastest by a long way of any test total of 700+. Next is Australia v Zimbabwe in the Hayden 380 innings at 5rpo and then you're looking at rates a run or more slower.

you know where all this apathy comes from

it's "only cricket" and "scoring at a run a ball isn't even that hard"

"why are these athletes complaining they're meant to be elite"

blah blah blah

that's why our sport doesn't get the respect it deserves

stuff like this doesn't get recognised even within our own circles for being the absolute mental anomaly that it is

"its only 1 boundary and a few singles an over why's everyone losing their mind"

only people that play cricket can ever really understand the levels of the achievement

Bairstow had golden opportunity to cement his place in side during brook absence in india series and he failed badly🤦‍♂️
Im not calling for his place in the XI. But just feel Bairstow could've smashed a 200 at a sr of above 100 if he had the chance to play on these pitches.
But yea, it probably would've ended up badly in the long run with him getting more chances

What a clownshow. No vision, no spine, just reactive bs. Sensible Pak fans deserve better.
I mean that is 18 innings without a 50, 9 of which have been at home, which is pretty damning, I don’t think even England would keep a batter who has failed to perform for so long. Who comes in for him, Huraira? His FC average is very juicy

Would make sense considering Twitter is saying that they’re playing on the same pitch in the hope it will spin
Carse-Stokes reverse swing and Leach-Bashir spin gonna destroy Pak.

3rd match they will react and do a greentop and Woakes-Atkinson will run through them.

So they will lose on all 3 types of pitches.

Bookmark this. This is exactly what's going to happen.

3 England quicks go down with food poisoning and Anderson called up as emergency fill in ;)

Rashid latif suggesting left arm Chinaman Sufyaan Muqeem's name considering how successful Kuldeep was against England.

Babar set to be dropped & Shaheen. Hurraira to debut.

Hurraira Kamran Ghulam Noman and Sajid might be expected changes.

I'd like to see Muqeem play as well but he is part of emerging team at this point.
England have definite weakness against left arm wrist spin.
Pak selectors will go with tried at tested Noman and Sajid though

How much of that is because England have a genuine weakness against left-arm wrist spin, and how much is because Kuldeep is just really good?

Would be surprised if Stokes were picked in the second Test as a bowler, we’ll need him to bowl a lot of overs which is a big ask considering he’s not been able to bowl at all

How many test quality left arm wrist spinners are even there apart from Kuldeep?

Saying England are poor against left arm wrist spin cause of Kuldeep is saying that Eng are weak against right arm pace because of Bumrah.
