**Official** England in New Zealand

I was far from sure about that. The noise didn't sound edge-ish at all, much more like a bat-on-pad noise.
Man, just saw Anderson had a very adjacent looking LBW shout to Ryder before he scored on the replay. How was that not out?!

Oh, and Bell shelled a hard one at short extra cover too. Bah.

Test Team

Cook
Vaughan
Pietersen
Collingwood
Bell
Ambrose+
Broad
Sidebottom
Hoggard
Harmison
Panesar
We know it'll be Strauss at one and everyone else shifted down with no Broad, though.

The more worrying thing is everyone at Sky certainly seems to reckon it's really going to be Mustard. Let's just hope it's unconsidered raving.

Apparently McCullum was dropped too, on 31.

I'd not class that Bell-Ryder one as a chance at all, but that Anderson lbw (which I hadn't heard about before this highlights) did look rather out.

Yeah. Ryder could conceivably come in for Fulton given how horrible his form has been, but not Taylor.
Agreed Taylor shouldn't be anywhere near the Test team as of this moment, but really right now I'd still back Fulton over Ryder. Both got good First-Class records, and I'm presuming Ryder will play due to the domino effect, which won't neccessarily be a catastrophe, but Fulton has had a little of a raw deal of late.

Yeah I do but since he made that extra effort to make comment after the 20/20s I was wondering if we could count on his expert opinion tonight?
Hasn't he posted once in this entire thread? I've certainly not been expecting him at any point.

Think we just saw it. Broad dropped a skyer down at third man. Easier than Bell's & he never really looked like taking it.
Looks like he might've been missed twice, 'cos there was one at extra-cover that looked, unlike the Ryder one, catchable.

Christ, this highlights package is depressing the hell out of me. Absolutely superb & very clean hitting from McCullum, but why was Anderson bowling length? He needed to be much fuller.

Anyone? Big call, we could use James Marshall or maybe even Chris Martin...

OK in all seriousness, thoughts behind your descision?
Rather look for the future we have lost lots of players (Astle and such) Sinclair is what 32? been tried and tested give someone else a chance.

Just got back from the game, Great game, it had everything.

First, a large crowd, New Zealand cricket must be thrilled, over 20 thousand people turned up, a near sell out.

Once again the crowd in the tui stand misbehaved big time and there were plenty of arrests, but thankfully the girl who flashed people, wasnt

The game itself, had plenty of good moments, it seems England were only going to make 200, 220 tops, but thanks to some pathetic bowling by Ryder, who had 50 smashed off his last five overs, including a dreadful last over they made 240 odd.

McCullum is amazing, six sixes in quick times had NZ reach 100 in 11 overs.

The next 20 odd overs though, had New Zealand trying to blow it, we were way too cautious, and it cost us wickets, when it started raining, the crowd noticed that we were ahead on the Duckworth lewis system and were calling for the players to go off before we lost another wicket.

Thanks to some dubious umpiring we stayed ahead, and when the players finally went off for rain, we had won!!!!!!!!!

A well deserved victory, and a great day out!

Don't even remember that shout.
Collingwood the bowler; pitched on middle, would've gone on to hit leg about halfway up. Only possible doubt was an inside edge & there didn't appear to be one.

Without wishing to get all conspiracy theory-ish, I can understand why umpires might be a wee bit reticent to give anything just now after what happened with Bucknor. As an ump you'll get less flack for the not-outs than the outs.
