Why did we choose to bowl first on this if the average first innings score in recent times has been 340 here.

Our shite bowling at the tail hasn't helped matters mind.

Quite good timing for NZ. Will allow Henry to bowl pretty much non-stop for the first 25 overs, given the upcoming lunch break.

Right, thought someone had posted that he's usually quicker, but couldn't remember for sure.

Might be understandable a drop on pace in the third test of a series, but wasn't appreciably quicker in the first two either.
His pace across the English summer did go down, although I'm not sure if that is a cause for concern as his workload has increased and he's still picking up wickets (Jimmy was pretty darn quick at the start of his career, but slowing down didn't do him any harm!). With Carse currently in the team and Wood and even possibly Archer to come back and satisfy our need for speed, I don't think it's imperative that Atkinson can consistently hit high 80s/90s as long as he's taking wickets

How quick is Ollie Stone? Is he Carse speed or quicker?

The conditions look better for batting today than yesterday so I'm not sure if that total of 347 will be enough but it should be competitive at least.
