I think the bigger issue is how well we use the new ball. If we waste it again, another 30 runs will be pretty irrelevant. There was a lot of talk this morning about how conditions are at their most helpful for bowlers at the start of the day. If that really is the case, our best bet is for Johnny to be dismissed for 101 on the 2nd ball he faces in the morning and then hope that our quicks can be persuaded to put the new ball in the right areas.

If anything we wish we had done that as they stayed loyal to players who don't deserve a prolonged chance.
