Look at the bright side - we don't have to listen to Srinath for 5 days..
God he IS AWFUL
You said it. He should be locked up.
What do they see in him I wonder?
Dhoni tried to swing Flintoff with a slightly cross bat, got a thick inside edge and it went for four to mid on. Next ball he plonked on the off side in a jerky defensive jab and Srinath went ballistic with " Dhoni has a GREAT technique" He had reapeated the great technique bit about six times before the next ball was bowled by Flintoff, on a good length, way outside the off stump, angling further away due to where it was bowled from, Dhoni, without moving his feet swung his bat at it a la Harbhajan Singh, got an edge and that was the end of Dhoni and his perfect technique.
I doubt if Srinath has any idea about the difference between "plays generally with a straight bat" and "has a great technique.
The word great seems to mean anything from okay to nice to good but rarely great.
Kaif cleverly dabbed a faster one from Monty between the slips, with an angled bat to the third man area for four and "thats a really great shot from Kaif" waxed Mr Javagal Srinath.
"Flintoff shouldnt be bowling round the wicket to right handers" started bowling coach Javagal. When Botham reminded him that Flintoff tends to reverse swing the ball which troubles a lot of right handers by straightening from the angle that appears, originally, to be taking it towards the slips, Srinath insisted that round the wicket was okay for left handed batsmen but not right handers.
Then Flintoff rapped the batsman on the pads and made a very good case for an LBW and Srinath said, well you can do it once or twice but not all the time !!!
WOW !! What an expert? What a moron? What a GREAT commentator?
