Apologies if this has already been posted but Sky have a new programme called "TBA" which appears to be running from 4am til 12 noon for 5 days from March 1st. I don't know why but I get the impression it might have something to do with cricket..?
They might well be leaving it free though just as a precaution.

I can't see anyone getting it other than Sky though in all fairness. :)

As there's no more offers on the table at the moment then it has to be.

Unless Channel Four pop up with a cracker of a bid for it. :D :cool2:

I can dream...

Apparently Channel 4 are pretty serious about bidding for the next England in India series, they just weren't ready to bid for this one from reports. Which makes you think that they've suddenly realised, with a big kick up the backside from the Ashes, what they are going to be missing.

saw some highlights of today's play.

Strauss chopped one on, didn't look to happy with himself. Bell edged to gully, Flintoff chipped one to mid on (grr). Pietersen looked in quite a bit of pain. Blackwell actually hit the umpire fairly flush with a straight drive - it still went for 4 through wide mid off. Geriant Jones was bowled by a straight one playing down the wrong line, so was Hoggard. Blackwells wicket was sweeping, umpire gave it straight away, batsman didn't look happy.
If Geraint ever stops getting out like that, he'll average 40+,

I know we will end up at square one after this post of mine and I also understand that no matter what stats are shown, you will maintain your stance of SRT being overrated. All I am asking is to bring is better logic than "he hasn't scored consistently on swinging/seaming conditions" to the table before terming SRT to be overrated.
there is absolutely no point arguing with him on this subject man.....he will never, ever listen to reason or just look at plain, simple facts....he's had this pet bee in his bonnet for quite some time now....:)

I don't understand as to why Munaf wasn't picked up for th test squad after such a wonderful display of fast bowling in which he had the English teem reeling??

VRS is a good bowler and i can see him playing with Munaf and Pathan in future, but i but for the first test Munaf should have got the nod ahead of VRS.

With Vaughns knee looking increasingly dodgy, and the chance of him being replaced by Collingwood all the more likely, does anyone feel england might make up hoggys bowling with bell and collingwood, and play both Monty and Blackie?
In that case, I'm thinking Blackwell is playing predominantly as a batsman, since I've suggested that with a fit Vaughan, Collingwood plays for Hoggard.

As a side note, how long till Cook flies out?

Not long I'd imagine.

Yet still averages nigh on 40...
Nope, You are looking at Season 2005 which is mainly his performance in tests in England in the summer. If you look at Flintoff's performance in the year 2005, he played 14 tests scored 709 runs @30.82.

Considering Collingwood has bowled virtually no overs in any of the warmup matches, I doubt there were thought of playing three specialist bowlers and using him as an allrounder.

I hope Sky get the rights. Channel 4 not showing any cricket is a sad state for English cricket but Sky not showing a major tour like this would just add to the woes. Luckily from those articles, Nimbus got far too ahead of themselves.

If only someone (anyone!) would broadcast the cricket here.

Yeah but unlike with the Pakistan series, I am not that peed off with Fox Sports this time, because their first priority should be Australian cricket and hence unfortunately the Aus tour of SA is occurring at the same time as Eng in India. :( However now showing India vs. Pakistan was a disgrace. At least they showed the highlights of the ODIs I guess, but they should have done the tests as well like in 2004.

The only was as far as I know for someone to watch the Ind/Eng series here in Australia is to pay for it by watching online. Its amazing that only a little while ago I lived in Singapore for 3 years and there was hardly any cricket, only on the odd occasion was some pay per view cricket available. Now that I don't live there anymore, they have a 24 hours a day dedicated cricket channel which shows every live game (only prioritising India and Pakistani games. So they'll show that start of a VB Series game for example, then cut to the Ind/Pak test series).

That'd be cool if it was here in Australia. I mean they have a snowboarding channel on Foxtel or something don't they? :(

English team already looks down and out, and not the team that can win the series.

Its unfortunate in the sense that a full fledge English team is a potent force and might even give Indian team a hard time while playing in India, but an injury hit team has too many problems of its own and can't be expected to come up with flying colors in the match.

The curry-related bottom injuries ought to be a thing of the past (or a thing to be passed) but as for everything else - anyone fancy Harmison, Hoggard and Flintoff to tread on a box of cricket balls?
