What are your predictions for the squad that will be selected today?
I still have a gut feeling that Ganguly might get selected ... not sure why.

Raina and Yuvraj positive here.
Very disappointed by Kaif, he's a wonderful cricketer who I really like but he's doing poorly here. He was supposed to be in good form too, after that test 91 and brilliant warm-up match 100.
Yeah I don't get it. Even before the Pakistan ODI series he hit two awesome knocks in the Ranji Trophy final, and then had a shocking ODI series.

12 runs off that over. If we can get 200 by the 40th over with 5 wickets in hand, we are in excellent shape.

Then we can go for around 260-270, which I think would be matchwinning.

It is high time Kaif gets dropped, and you cannot have different yardsticks for different people. Despite making ducks consistently, he still finds himself in the team and it is nothing but strange. Rao should have played in place of Kaif in this match.

If the selection is on merit, Kaif should not part of the team for the rest of the series. India definitely has got a lot of talent on the batting front and Kaif is certainly not indispensable.

And also it seems Sehwag needs a break.

Ganguly should get selected, that is what i feel. And we also need 2 good openers. If Ganguly is going to open, the other opener could be S Dhawan,R Uthappa or S Vidyut.

Our team is ****ed up as it is, why would you want to completly mess up chemistry? It doesn't make any sense.

And lets not get ahead of ourselves here. Indian cricket history isn't exactly empty of sudden batting collapses, or snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.
You know what I find funny. Every single cricket fan (or most at least) believes that their specific country is unique at having frequent batting collapses and 'snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory'. The English always talk about it, the Pakistanis, NZ and SA too, and of course India. Obviously Australia haven't had to in recent times.

My point is however that pretty much every team does this from time to time, hence why the difference between them (particularly in ODI cricket) is very small.

Its not just about cricket. If an ex captain had such a highly publicised fall out with the coach, and probably with the current captain, what good are you doing by bringing him in?

Its gotta be either Dravid or Ganguly, and I dont know a single person who would pick Ganguly in that equation.

If Kaif and Sehwag aint scoring and are still in the team, i don't see why not ganguly get another go.. afterall the record speaks for itself..

Because it doesn't do the team any good. I'd rather bring in a couple of new faces than Ganguly. Team chemistry is paramount. The coach doesn't want him, the captain doesn't want him. So what are you trying to accomplish?

And so instead of Kaif and Sehwag not scoring, you'll have Ganguly and Sehwag not scoring. Bring in a new face, ganguly's time is over....with the added benefit of the coach and the captain being in a perpetual state of frustration.

Do you really think that Chappel and Dravid and Ganguly will be able to get along in team meetings to discuss strategy, tactics and etc? If not, then there is no way he should be near the team.

Ganguly falls definitely short in that equation. But since India needs two openers, Ganguly definitely is one among them. But as you say, it seems very unlikely as More has taken a firm decision on Ganguly.

I just can't agree with you.. Ganguly era might be over, but he has to get a chance..

I reckon Chappell should just do his job as a coach and go through the tactics and what not to the team.. It shouldn't be ganguly's problem if coach doesn't like him.. Chappell has to just do his job whoever the other person is..

Why does a 33 year old need to get another chance? Surely there is someone younger who doesn't **** off the coach and the captain and who is available?

You say what you want about Chappell, but Dravid also would not like Ganguly coming back (regardless of his public comments).

Um, was it me or did they just show a picture of Pathan having his hand around another man while his other hand was on that guys crotch? He was speaking to Chappell and the guy in the middle had a morose look that was probably best described as: "Um, am I getting molested here by Pathan, or is he just being friendly?"

That shot just cracked me up, seriously. It was the most interesting shot. I am sure it was the camera angle, but the guy in the middle (it was Kaif) had a look that was utterly priceless. It was almost as if Kaif was saying, "Yea, I know I got out for a duck, but please don't molest me!"
