Yuvraj will walk back into the team, so its either Laxman or Kaif to go. My money is on Laxman, but if I were to put a gun to my head I'd say give him the rest of the test series to get it right.
.
I would rather give Kaif a chance so that he can build on what he showed here, also Kaif is a much better fielder and Laxman is making a habit of spilling catches in slips. Moreover Laxman keeps getting chances that he doesn't seem to entirely capitalize on, he plays a gem of an innings and then follows it up with couple of very ordinary performances, he is very talented but ticks me off with his inconsistency. As someone said earlier move Sehwag to second slip and you have a more younger side with Kaif and Yuvi on either side of the pitch.

And didn't Steve Waugh lose his ODI place a couple of years earlier?

As for 1984 till 2005, he had a rather large career break between his debut and becoming a regular.
I mentioned regarding him playing so many tests though. Easily forgot that point too.

so how it is "dismissing" anything I don't see.
Dismissing age or certainly not giving it importance. It is a mixture of both age and playing time - also different for different people.

How because player X has played Y number of years andso his performance is going to have a major impact - your point - I am not able to understand.

BTW which movie do you think will win the Oscars which are due to start in some time? ;)

That would work too, provided the bowlers perform to their potential. If Mohali is a seaming track, the management can go in with 3-1. That way we can keep the 6 specialist batsmen.
Mohali has historically a reputation of helping the seamers initially and then flattening out. England's seam attack (even without Simon Jones) is pretty good and I am positive they willl include Liam Plunkett (if he has recovered)/James Anderson for Blackwell in Mohali. Hence I feel we need to go with 6 batsmen. Also Munaf after his performance against Eng in the recent warm up match will be raring to go so not a bad idea to throw him down the deep end. I mean what can we lose at the most Munaf cannot do much worse than Bhajji.

I can't, and hence won't argue with that. Ever since 04 I've wanted Kaif in the test team so if VVS is dropped I won't argue with it at all. Its just my gut feeling points to give VVS another crack. We'll just have to wait and see.

Well, then he might score another century and save his spot in next 10 tests, not to mention he will fail in most of those tests. Laxman bats best when his back is against the wall, his place is in question.

Kaif, once again will miss out for no fault of his and basically will never get a decent run until Laxman is there.

Been impressed with the TV coverage feed we get in the UK.. Nice to see them using the super slo mo's and some pretty cool graphics too..

I know..but it doesn't mean he shouldn't.
to me it does, but lets avoid that argument.

you're right about laxman, the guy produces a gem just as he's on the verge of being dropped and uses that as a comfort until he's once again threatened, and he produces another gem. kaif is brilliant in the field and will be keen to take advantage of a rare opportunity, he's a very hard worker.

So it seems we've all (more or less) agreed on the following:
Sehwag, Jaffer, Dravid, Tendulkar, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Pathan, Kumble, Sreesanth

That leaves 2 spots to be shared between Kaif, Laxman, Chawla, Harbhajan and Munaf.
Kaif and Munaf for me.

Going further, I think Munaf will definitely play.
That leaves 1 spot to be shared between Laxman/Kaif and Chawla/Harbhajan.
Who would you all take?

Why does Pathan deserve a place there ? Is he a better bowler than Munaf ? Did he bowl better than Santh ?

The Wheel is Forever
There is somewhere between 0% and 0% chance that Pathan will be dropped (barring injury):

Sehwag
Jaffer
Dravid
Sachin
Yuvraj
Kaif
Dhoni
Pathan
Munaf
Kumble
Sreesanth

England is feared of india, therefore they played with defensive field even on the last day of test match.

DHONI & all other players will destroy englands plans.

We Do Not Tell Which Team Is Strong Or Which Team Is Weak Beacause Team Which Play Good Game On A Particular Day Is Always On Top.
I Also Personaly Think That Media Make A Mistake By Tell That England Is Weak Team After Main Plyers Not Played>
