That's not as easy a nick as it looks. When a keeper is standing up to the stumps, nicks that deviate that much not easy. The time between the nick and when it reaches the keeper is very little. A good keeper is expected to move with the ball (rise and move sideways) depending upon the movement of the ball as it deviates and rises after pitching. This makes sure his hands are in line (and height) of the ball when it touches the bat - after that a little deviation makes the ball land somewhere in the gloves. This moved considerably. He did well to move his hands after he heard the nick but the deviation was a bit too much. It would have been a super catch if he had taken it.
I have always felt Parthiv was not a good enough keeper to ever have played for India but this time when he has come back his keeping technique has been impressive. In this series his movement (or lack of it) with the ball has been superb. Some of the balls that have kept very very low have been collected by him with élan. He does rise for those low grubbers but his hands stay low and in line with the ball.
Dhoni does not do that which is why balls that keep low escape him more often than not.
It was actually Kohli's catch but Parthiv's movement was instinctive. No time to decide to leave it for the slip. The old Parthiv would not have reached it and India would have, probably got a wicket.
That was not an easy catch in my humble opinion.
Who knows? Maybe you will make a post worth reading too.England 100/0 before losing all 10 wickets in a session to BD
**** can still happen
Who knows? Maybe you will make a post worth reading too.
Who did I have the avatar bet with on Stokes averaging less than 40 with the ball for the series??
Not looking good for me so far.
We had a bet with Zinzan. He won't bowl much so probably only needs one spell of a cheap 3 or 4 fer to get under it
Indeed mate.......let me have it. He probably only needed 1 more wicket this test and I'd have been safe.Looks like we've finishing at the 3-0 margin then.
Adder, you conceding our Stokes > 40 average with the ball avatar bet yet?
Will happen before you.Who knows? Maybe you will make a post worth reading too.
A month correct, just trying to figure out how brutal I should be since I don't recall us putting a limitation that it has to be cricket relatedIndeed mate.......let me have it. He probably only needed 1 more wicket this test and I'd have been safe.
For a month right?
A post this stupid befits the place you come from more..A wicket like this befits a place like Chennai.
Given the bet was on Stokes, I would say the Virat finger on lips gesture after he was dismissed would be the best bet.A month correct, just trying to figure out how brutal I should be since I don't recall us putting a limitation that it has to be cricket related
Not bad.Given the bet was on Stokes, I would say the Virat finger on lips gesture after he was dismissed would be the best bet.
