I think it's fair to look at Ashwin's bowling figures and conclude putches 2, 3 and 4 had something in it for spin bowlers.

Nah, Ashwin's wickets don't count because they were rank turners. But then, neither do Kohli's runs because he made them on roads. Because logic.

i love the cricinfo commentary of indian tests and how the commentators are almost as bad as the indian close in fielders

37.1
r ashwin to ali, no run, there is some turn in the surface! ashwin pitches it around middle stump and it turns to around fourth, safely defended by the batsman

39.2
r ashwin to ali, no run, huuuuuge puff of dust!, ali leaves it outside off

41.5
r ashwin to stokes, no run, it goes in the air a little bit within ten metres of a fielder! how did that not carry as stokes presses forward to defend

47.4
r ashwin to stokes, no run, stokes is not in full control of his shot! the ball didn't come out of the middle on this defensive shot but instead off the inside half of the bat, ashwin swarming the batsman!

Damn, unlucky India. How did that defended ball not carry to the fielder who was 10 metres away? If he'd dived 6x his body length he may have got there.

All we have to do is tire out the pacers and Cook will begin aimlessly bowling the spinners hoping for a wicket.

Whatever it takes!!!
Dawson is already looking very wary of the batsmen coming down the track and lofting him to the stands. He was darting them in to Parthiv as well...

India has some of the lousiest commentators in the world. Is it so difficult for the Siva and Shastri to learn from the Athertons and the Nasir Hussains sitting besides them.

Its not difficult to pick up a few simple things like - TALKING LESS . . . MUCH LESS. If you have nothing worthwhile to say, why not just SHUT UP.

You may be in love of your voice, we are not. Don't describe what is happening on the screen to us - we can see !!!

Mr Shastri : When Rahul hits a second six in a couple of overs facing a 400 run deficit - it is not "showing good intent" - it is aggressive intent or, if you want to give him more credit, positive intent. In this situation batsmen (Gavaskar, Dravid come readily to mind) looking to drive along the ground did not show "bad/poor intent' !!

PS : Criticising a country's/any country's commentators is not idiotic. Not saying anything negative about one's countrymen is not patriotism

Rahul hitting England's "control" spinner out of the attack LOL. That's why I want rahul in the side.

At some point, Vijay and Rahul will finally start clicking as an opening pair and stay on till the spinners come in. And THEN, it will be fun viewing. :)
