Once we failed to get an early wicket or two, it was always going to be a long, hard slog involving India having to bat time at some point.

Root, Hameed, Cook all look great against it from what we have seen in this game. But they may all fail if they get to play on the pitches that we all expected. India has Pujara, Vijay and Ashwin. England are better equipped to score on roads with slow turn than India are.
