Yeah I did. How bad was he in that game?
Haha. Well he dropped Goodwin on zero and he made a triple century. Not sure if he dropped any others or even if he conceded a load of byes. Just dropped a regulation edge and the bloke went onto score massively.

Meaning Prior? Not sure I agree, tbh. Thoroughly decent in tests, but has never convinced me in the shorter forms.
Pretty sure he meant Davies, he's expressed praise of him throughout this thread and then included him in his lineup below.

Don't think Bresnan should belong in that company imo, he's clearly a notch ahead.
Don't think Bresnan is a notch ahead of much to be honest, would personally expect Plunkett to have much better chances at a sucesfull test career than him, not that I hold out all that much hope for either.

So you are rating him on the basis of him dropping one catch (albeit where the batter went onto score a few). I'm certain that Davies, Prior and Foster all dropped their share in the last season. Dropping an easy chance only to see the batsman score a shed full is not unique. Ask Nassar Hussain.

Kieswetter is a young man (18 months younger than Davies) still learning his trade. I'd rate him as competent, rather than spectacular, with the gloves, not in the same league as Foster. Still good enough to have the gloves in a ODI, still a way from challenging for the gloves at test level.

Nice to see Tredwell getting wickets in the 'A' game. I assume this puts him well ahead of Rashid and a prime contender for the first test.

Are we going to be playing 2 spinners?

I dont think i can remember a worse bowling lineup (on paper) in an England match. 'A' game or not!

Well, I'm really hoping Finn get's a game now, at least he has the potential to be something special.

KP out to another SLA. Hmm.

We could be in a spot of bother here; 68/3 with Bresnan due to come in at #7.

Suspect Finn will be overlooked for the test cos he's a specialist #11. Not saying it's right, but we do like yer multi-faceted players.

Depends whether Onions is fit imo. If so, Finn won't get a look in. If not, they may well fancy someone doing what Harmison did last time out here.

KP's a worry though.

Norwood's on Fire
So if KP fails in this series, how short does his leash become? Dropping him seems unthinkable, but as the old saying goes, nobody is indispensable.

Much as I would welcome a little spell with us I really can't see it happening. I still have complete confidence him in anyway.

Yes, I said that Kieswetter was a poor keeper based off one drop 8-)
Might help if you actually read the post I was replying to. King Pietersen said he'd never seen him put a foot wrong, so I pointed out an instance where he put a foot wrong, at a massive cost for his side I might add.

His glovework is only just up to scratch from what I've seen. That's not based upon one costly drop but the fact everytime I've seen him play he's just looked average as a keeper.

You shouldn't be so presumptious as to assume that you know what I have, or haven't read.

I believe that KP's original comment was probably factually accurate (that he hadn't seen him put a foot wrong). The fact that you have seen something different does not make the original comment wrong. To challenge the comment on the basis that you have seen 1 dropped catch is a bit facile. How many cricketers are there out there that haven't made 1 mistake. It's a bit like me saying your post was wrong because he didn't put a foot wrong, it was the position of his gloves that were the problem.

In the space of just over a paragraph you've described Kieswetter variously as poor, just up to scratch and average. You need to make up your mind. For me, average with the gloves and well above average with the bat - what more do you want from a 22 year old.
