Ah ok. I was thinking that surely with so many counties playing at a competitive level, there are a couple of bats under say 33 who show good footwork and would be a chance of performing well in these type of conditions. In Australia, right or wrong Peter Handscomb gets talked about as quality against spin so is being talked about as a bolter next time we tour the sub-cont. Fair enough if there is no-one better.
Samit Patel was talked about like this for ages but the evidence never really came through in internationals.

James Taylor would have been the name everyone would have answered with 12 months ago.

Duckett has been picked partly because of his big ton on a turning wicket against Glamorgan where he outscored the both teams' first innings on a turning wicket.

Ultimately they're not prepared for these kind of tests.

Basically Taylor was the one we were all looking at earlier in the year as someone who had to tour no matter what happened in the summer with him and circumstances took over there.
Yeah true, Taylor was quality against spin and would have been really handy at bat pad too.

Well, you need at least five more like him.
We definitely do not need 6 bolters next time we tour the sub-cont.

The lead is now 100, hooray.

After having bowled out the BAngladesh lower order cheaply I didn't think I would be sitting here trying to decide on 'minimum defendable target' but here we are

Gut feeling is that any side defending 200 in the last innings in the next 2 months of tests will be favourites given the pitches we will be on.

200 should be more than enough, it's Bangladesh. Anyway, England's batting only wakes up after the first 3-4 wickets have fallen.
Yeah, I was thinking 200 would be enough to make England favourites.

Bangladesh are getting better though.. they need to find a way to win one Test match in these conditions against a non-minnow and I get a feeling the monkey will be off their back and they'll rack up a few more.

Yeah, they are. No longer relying on two or three players they have five or six proper good players and it all about getting a winning mentality.
