or we could just ask andruid, an actual human Kenyan who the forum insists on treating as a bot
There is now a new draft constitution doing the rounds on social media that they want to get passed by the end of May. At least that is the latest development, but at the time Global sports ground to a halt the administration had lost the confidence of stakeholders to the point that clubs in Nairobi were running their leagues independently of it.

For those so podcast-inclined, the most recent Emerging Cricket pod has Max Abbott, Media & Comms Manager for the T20 World Cup (previously worked with me at Cricket Hong Kong - if you've ever watch any HK Cricket you'll recognise his voice from comms) where he talks about the women's T20WC, Thailand, Katy Perry and 86,000 at the MCG. He also ha the best Curtly Ambrose impression in the world!

So I've heard a rumor along the grapevine that the ICC is thinking of cutting funding to Associates if the T20WC doesn't go ahead, because the big 3 and Full Member boards aren't willing to bear the entire brunt of the loss of income

Apparently what that means is that around 45% of Associate Boards will go bankrupt as a result.

No idea if this is true or valid, but it's pretty shocking if it is.

Whatever it takes!!!
Also completely expected though. First of all, is the ICC willing to take a hit on the money they make, for themselves? Trust me, the old grimp Manohar will have none of it. They are all selfish pricks, really.

Ew.

The ICC will bail them out with loans that will subsequently have a haircut or be written off as bad debt because the associates aren’t profitable. So they may as well give them the money up front.

Yeah but the loan and bad debt model is a lot easier to get passed the the big three because they don't need to agree to it all at once.

So anyway. Have been listening to a 12 minute audio by Kobus Oliver about the brief period he was Chief Executive of Cricket Kenya. As far as he is concerned, our problems boil down to an overbearing and manipulative Chairperson in Jackie Janmohammed, an incompetent board, and utter refusal to implement development structures, or involve former players in the set up.

The dude worked seven months before being run out of the country after Mrs. Janmohammed, a practicing lawyer revealed that Cricket Kenya had never bothered to sort out his work permit issues.

This is after getting himself in constant run ins with the board over taking initiative to organize outreaches for local kids to get exposure to the game.

Mrs Janmohammed is now head of the Africa Cricket Association having left Cricket Kenya without so much as a functional national executive never mind a healthy game.
