As has already been said several times, Patrick will be traded to another team as soon as a reasonable deal can be reached. We're certainly not releasing him without compensation, because he's not fulfilled his contract.
If, of course, it became apparent that members of the Blue management had hounded him out of the team, then I think we'd be obliged to discipline the players in question and release Patrick if he so wished, and simply make up the numbers with future draft picks. As it is, nobody has been named, so there's no reason to believe CW Blue bears any responsibility for what has happened. It should be understood that the "senior Blue management" is made up of five individuals, and every one of those individuals has been closely involved in the discussions in this thread. I don't think for a second that any of us said anything even remotely hostile towards Patrick, and if there's been a miscommunication and nobody in Blue managment was involved I think it's Patrick's responsibility to clear it up and allow his former team to deal with the players in question and move on. I'm sure if they are as apologetic as it seems they are, they can apologise in public and will be allowed to continue to play in the dev league.
Regardless, we've got a few trading options in mind and hopefully one of them will pan out and we can put this behind us. If they don't, I'm sure Patrick will find a willing team to pick him up in season 12.
