Source: You swear to God himself that [Patrick's claim] is 100% legitimate?
Patrick: Don't be a douche.
Source: Go on. Surely, if you're telling the truth, it's a mere formality.
Patrick: I don't swear to God about anything.
pretty harsh really, lets say for arguments sake if the top 3 batters in the system all happened to be openers im pretty sure that the selectors would find a way to include all three. Im obviously not at the level to demand to be included in the team given my past performances but id be pretty disapointed to think that if my form warranted it in the future i wasnt picked simply because the two openers already there are doing a good enough job...Blewy said:Thats exactly right, Fitzsimmons is an opener and i have actually spoken to Simon about this myself.. It would not be fair on simon to come into the side and bat at #6 or 7 when at this point our 2 openers are doing a fine job...
I think that whilst your position did play a part, your previous test record probably played a larger part in your exclusion. That said, I can't believe I got selected, have been in shocking form.broncoman said:pretty harsh really, lets say for arguments sake if the top 3 batters in the system all happened to be openers im pretty sure that the selectors would find a way to include all three. If this is true then i apologise to Nath.. I still dont agree with the way he went about it, by not explaining to the players, But i understand his reasons to leave..Nnanden said:Horse & Hound
Exclusive – Blue in the face.
By Abhinav Shankar
Huge news out today in light of the scandal that has swept CricketWeb Blue. A statement released today from fast-bowler Nath Patrick`s lawyer, Navkaran Randhawa, read:
“We are very disappointed with the reaction from the players and media to Patrick`s withdrawal from the Blue side. Initially, Nathan decided not to speak out on the issues of his decision, but after the backlash, we have advised him to make his reasons public.
Nath Patrick received a series of harassing e-mails from two CW Blue players and a player from CW Black. The e-mails contained vulgar and abusive material telling Patrick he was not wanted at CW Blue. The e-mails claimed that if Patrick decided to keep playing for the club, the pair, one of them a senior player for the side, would use their status in order to persuade management not to select Patrick for future matches.
Soon after these e-mails, Patrick was not selected for the next fixture for the club, and saw this as more than coincidence.
Nathan has expressed very clearly that he wanted this information to be kept quiet in order that CricketWeb Cricket might go on as usual, but obviously that was too idealistic.
The names of the three players involved will not be released at this stage, to ensure Development League Cricket may progress unhindered.
As expressed before, we are extremely disappointed with reactions of some players in this debacle, but indeed we thank those who were understanding and supportive.”
CWXI Captain and former team-mate at Blue, Brendan Goff, exclaimed his anger at Patrick after the initial stages of the fall-out. “I challenge Nath to come out and say what his reasons are, he has walked out on his team-mates when we needed him. It`s a selfish attitude, he has given us no reason at all, and to refuse to play is childish.”
Patrick opted to leave the club and must now wait for Blue Officials to make an appropriate trade. Reports that CW International Liam Camps will only accept large bars of gold splattered with blood are unconfirmed.
True, but I would have thought his ODI blooding would have done that. After thinking about it a bit more, the selectors may also opt for him over Kearsley...Robertinho said:I think, if the role the selectors had in mind for Fuller was 12th man, it's most likely that they were sending a message to him that he's in the picture and his endeavour is not going unnoticed.
Have you been playing around with some sort of nickname generator lol....Robertinho said:"Gibbs"
We are playing an allrounder at 7. We are not playing an opening batsman at 7. Fitzsimmons is not an allrounder and is an opening batsman.ash chaulk said:SEAN FULLER HOW WHAT WHY WHEN WHERE
MATES RATES OR SELECTION BOO BOO
How
How can Sean Fuller be selected to the CW XI when his form truely shows he's not ready. This season averaging 21 with the bat and 32 with the ball in a team that has not won a First Class game has been given a ride. While Fuller may have performed well in past seasons he has not had any test match experience to back his selection into the team. How can veteran opener Simon Fitzsimmons averaging 101 scoring 2 FC centuries from 4 innings not be a better choice than Fuller.
Bryce Cunningham had a poor batting season last time around and we're not confident that he's a Test calibre number 7 yet.ash chaulk said:What
What about Bryce Cunningham he's played a handful of Test matches been in better form than Fuller and is left in the cold.
Fuller is in the squad as cover for/an alternative to Camps.ash chaulk said:Where
Where will Fuller play there is no need for him. ARTHUR is wishing he is 12th man just to get the feel, then Fuller should go back to the development league win a few games for Blue and get himself into form.
Name the players; if they are big enough to send abusive and vulgar emails, they are big enough to take whatever punishment is dealt out by the CWBCC. People shouldn't have to put up with crap like that in a fun first concept like this...Nnanden said:Horse & Hound

From the selection statement, the other 10 players are certainties to play, including both Dauth and Kearsley. If I play it will be in place of Camps, and if I'm 12th man Camps will play. Pretty much the same role you had in the test side.bryce said:True, but I would have thought his ODI blooding would have done that. Agreed. As a senior Blue player I'd be terribly disappointed if anyone affiliated with the team did such a thing. Name the people involved.thewizard1o1 said:Name the players; if they are big enough to send abusive and vulgar emails, they are big enough to take whatever punishment is dealt out by the CWBCC. The point is that we're not playing a specialist batsman at number 7. It's not fair on the batsman and it makes little sense. This is not ODI cricket.ash chaulk said:ARTHUR mode:

Why would fitzy have to play at 7? drop someone else down
