*Official* CW XI in Sri Lanka Tour Thread

Blewy

Cricketer Of The Year
Super effort, A few dodgy calls when we were batting but we didnt let that effect us and we really dominated a test... a really great effort...

Awesome $3000 win fellas.

International Coach
Stop being wooden spoons. :nono:

Nikhil said he wanted India to win if we played them, this is just a case of being sad that his country got mauled. Plus Nikhil was due to play in the games against India which isn't the case here.

David

International 12th Man
Good luck in the test today fellas! Looking forward to winning 2-0! :)

I know it's not the opening day yet for Liam, but I'm looking forward to it!

Cricket Web XI vs Sri Lanka
2nd Test
at Kandy

The CW XI enters this Test match in an unfamiliar position - with a 1-0 lead. Never have they gone into the final Test of a series without the prospect of a series defeat. With major confidence gained in Colombo, and the knowledge of substantial Test match victories over Sri Lanka in the last two Tests between the teams, the Cricket Web XI will fancy their chances.

The last time these two teams met at this venue, some 1491 runs were scored for the loss of just 30 wickets. In the second innings matters took on historic proportions with the rise of Andrew Cloete, at the height of his powers, to the highest individual score by a Webhead in Test cricket - 240.

What does this game bring? What more does Sri Lanka have to offer after the humiliation of Colombo?

Let's take a look at the pitch...

Current Conditions

Ball : The ball is nice and new.
Pitch : A perfect batting pitch with no visible cracks.
Bounce : High bounce. Just what the fast bowlers want.
Outfield : Very fast outfield. Lots of boundaries likely to be scored.
Weather : Very hot and sunny. Not a cloud in the sky.

Sri Lanka
ST Jayasuriya
MS Atapattu (C)
WU Tharanga [Test Match debut]
KC Sangakkara (wk)
DPMD Jayawardene
TT Samaraweera
TM Dilshan
KS Lokuarachchi
WPUJC Vaas
M Muralitharan
SL Malinga

12th Man: UDU Chandana

The Sri Lankans have drafted in young Tharanga in place of the luckless Chandana. The move strengthens the batting, which failed so critically in the first Test.

Cricket Web XI
H Moerk (wk)
PE Young
BJ Goff (C)
AP Cloete
CR Butler
MJ Robbins
LA Camps
TC Halsey
DM Kennett
KS Wright
NS Pickup

12th Man: SG Fitzsimmons

As predicted, the Cricket Web XI exercises the luxury of an unchanged team, hoping to carry on from the success of a week ago.

Brendon Goff calls heads.
Cricket Web XI won the toss and elected to bat.
