feels amazing to finally get some runs, the extra nets have started to pay dividends! next step is to enusre that those fifteys become centuries in the test match

International 12th Man
Well played boys, had them on the ropes. Second innings was a bit dreadful, but we can improve on that.

Pleased with my bowling, but not so happy with my golden pair, especially as night watchman in the second dig.

I look forward to spending four days on a combination of a) Sri Lankan beaches, b) net practice to work on my batting, c) my slider and d) perfecting rudimentary Sinhalese and Tamil in order to i) sledge, ii) understand sledges and iii) avoid match fee fineage.
i can help u in that department. ;)

not a bad start. could have done better in the second innings though.

hmm, very nice way to start a tour, would have been better if you guys had gotten a win, but atleast everyone sort of finding their feet, in Sri Lanka. Hopefully,a 2-0 series win, is right around the bend.

Good effort boys ... I think you may have to improve a little though
We were well on top through the game - I agree that there's always room for improvement, but I think in this case we've played well.

That is a very positive start fellas. Some very handy partnerships from our batsman, but no-one able to carry through and get the hundred that will be needed when we play the tests. On a personal note, very happy with my performance, I feel my form is the best it has been for a very long time. Great to be bowling with Dave again. :D

Good stuff. A solid hit out to start the series, almsot every batsman made runs which is good. I don't think it was too important that we won that match.

Let's just win the tests :D

You have a slider?
Every decent leggie has a slider. It's a little different to Warnie's in design and execution but effective nonetheless [when it's not wide]. None of the East Devon U13s fancied it, anyway...

Good effort in the first tour game, a couple of top-order worries remaining though. Look forward to the Tests!

Loving it. :D

And a slider is merely a leggie that has less revolutions on it (to the point where it doesn't have enough to actually turn, so it's still a leggie of sorts). It annoyed me that people were calling Warnie's zooter a slider, the one that got Bell in the 1st Test was a true slider.
