I claim inexperience on myself as captain

Yeah I gues your right to some extent. But I did hardly have any control over the actual captaincy. When I am captain (If infact I am in fututre) am I allowed to decide anything? Like in a live sim or soemthing, or talk to the simmer before the game.

But I do admit I should have definitely converted my start to a bigger score and that was really showing my one major weakness! If I had done that then I'm sure the team would have done alot better and tehre would have been alot less pressure on all of them. But I didn't really have too much control in terms of the actualy captaincy.

The captain is allowed to communicate bowling changes to the simmer as well as suggest changes to the batting lineup presented by the Panel. That said, the lineup may not always be changed on account of that, but the captaincy does have a strong influence on such factors.

I feel disappointed - did the hard work to get in, we were looking a great pairing between the wickets - then I play a bad shot like that

As captain, i am dissapointed with the result.. However i am confident in the squad we have that we can step back up and show that this was a one off..

As liam said this has always been made clear and being captain you have those rights ... even if it was a temp captaincy.. you have to make your requests clear before the match is being simmed through by email.

I don't consider my captaincy record too highly due to the fact that I was presented with a very inexperienced and understrength team!

The team might be inexperience but just as stated before even the captain might be.. dont blame it all on the team either mate, everyone gets a start somewhere and they have to make it theirs.. unfortunately the team didnt perform upto standards.. The team isint understrength by any means, some of the new players are the best of the players that come up from the CW Devs..
and you were the one that was willing to step down to bring in new players..

What does that have to do with anything about me? I was saying I hope the board/rest of the team weren't expecting us to win easily!!! I mean everybody has to start sometime, but you can't expect results from everyone straight away!

It had nothing to do with me and I never had any intention of it being like that!! The inexperienced comment was true, but I guess it wasn't too understrength.

Still I find myself wondering that habing not being able/knowing(Probably my own fault for not knowing) that I can indeed (As temporary captain) communicate any form of tactics. So all I'm saying it was in the simmers hands and all I had there was a star to my name which basically meant nothing in terms of the actual tactics. Having said that I'm not blaming Reuben at all, I was quite happy with the way he did everything but again it was just a few guys need some settling in before they prove match winners. And some of our experienced plaeyrs didn't perform(i.e Me!), except Lord who was absolutely sensational.

I just don't think it's fair you can take my comments out of context, if infact you did. Because I certainly didn't mean them to across the way that most people are suggesting. What I mean was the fact that we shouldn't have been expected to trounce bangladesh (Which is the impression I got, so I wanted to make sure the match wasn't looked badly upon!!! ). And as I said previously, everybody makes their debut sometime but not everybody's going to hit a century or take a 5 for, which is why I don't take my captaincy of that game too highly but I guess that isn't really the right eording. What I mean with that is the fact that I hope we/I as team/captain weren't/wasn't expected to win by a large margain given that we were testing new players and so I had to say that I didn't think my captaincy should be scrutinised from that game.

Anyway I never meant any disrespect to anyone but I guess it mgiht have come across that way. However I am quite annoyed that snide comments are made when I am indeed trying to make a mense!

The real issue here Cloete is that before anyone even cast blame on you or scrutinized your leadership, you were defending yourself and doing so by justifying the situation. That's not what we look for in a leader.

this is all very dissapointing and i know i am to blame with no runs in the third one day game, but you do like your captain to stand by the playing xi but lets get back out there in the nets and get some good cricket going fo the 4th odi.

Well after a 16 day holiday in Cairns I finally return home this morning. Very pleased with my callup and debut into the 1D side. Pleased with 3 wickets, econ has something to be desired and overall dissapointed about the loss, however I'm just greatful for being in the squad.

The fact of the matter is, 99% of players involved would be thrilled to have the chance to captain the side for even an ODI, and it is extremely disappointing that when someone has the chance they look out for themselves. I wasn't the only one annoyed by this, I can assure you.

Haven't you seen the scorecard. I was in Byron and made a quick flight to Bangladesh. It was obvious that the jet lag had an effect 1/40 off ten! Very bad!

Does Blewy shift the blame when the side loses? Did Rich do the same before that, or the other previous captains?

No. They are part of a team and accept it is a team game. You can't isolate yourself from a side for personal benefit, especially as captain.
