Reuben is due to sim it.Mr. Ponting said:Liam are you going to sim the game, I thought it was scheduled for tonight?
I thought it was more to do with the whole rebel uprising why you weren't on?lord_of_darkness said:I havent been on the selection panel because i have been very busy..
lord_of_darkness said:Ill discuss this with liam in a CWBCC board meeting tonight before/after simming the match..
oh no marc, at that time the board decided , liam would represent us on the selection panel that was around the time i had my end of year exams. wich was for the best as i would have been very busy.I thought it was more to do with the whole rebel uprising why you weren't on?
CWXI Constitution states that the Board/CEOs (Liam/Reuben) share the position on the selection committee but only have one vote between them.lord_of_darkness said:oh no marc, at that time the board decided , liam would represent us on the selection panel that was around the time i had my end of year exams. wich was for the best as i would have been very busy.
Agreed. Some truly ridiculous mismanagement there. The CWBCC will have a full investigation of the situation. Ridiculous.Neil Pickup said:Very disappointed with my second innings bowling performance - no wickets off 20 overs just isn't good enough.
Also cannot believe the captaincy - I don't know why I'm coming on fourth change after Cloete and I can't see Sri Lanka bringing on Murali after Russel Arnold too often.
As for the declaration - why the need to bat into day five? Why the need to set 580? Bangladesh were never going to chase 400, never mind nearly 600. That's what's cost us that Test more than anything.
yep that is very clear i remember that no doubt.CWXI Constitution states that the Board/CEOs (Liam/Reuben) share the position on the selection committee but only have one vote between them
cloete was bowling more of a medium mixed with spin i think thats why he was brought on a lil earlier. Also cannot believe the captaincy - I don't know why I'm coming on fourth change after Cloete and I can't see Sri Lanka bringing on Murali after Russel Arnold too often.
Why would a part-time bowler of any pace be brought on before the lone specialist spinner in a Test match, on the subcontinent no less? That makes little tactical sense. The bigger gripe, however, is why would the XI need to bat for so long before a declaration. Surely 350 even would have been enough and certainly a victory.lord_of_darkness said:cloete was bowling more of a medium mixed with spin i think thats why he was brought on a lil earlier.
I'm not opposed to a rotating place on the Panel, once the other selectors are in agreement with the idea and the general public is too.lord_of_darkness said:yep that is very clear i remember that no doubt.
im saying is we still keep the 1 vote , but what i meant to say is .. that the 1 position on the selection committe that the board has should be regulated tour by tour based on the coach, eg when liam coaches/sims the pak tour hes representing the 1 vote for the board on selection comittee for the whole tour that way he has more basis on his thoughts/insights as hes following the game a lot more clearly, and when im coach/simmer for say the bang tour it would be more fair that i represent the board on the selection panel because im following the warmup games/matches and my insights would be a lot more clearer. Its all for the fairness and would free up liam for dev when hes not involved in a certain tour.
So really the matter should handled by the board then...

i think since its an affair of the board it should be decided by the board itself..I'm not opposed to a rotating place on the Panel, once the other selectors are in agreement with the idea and the general public is too.
