As far as I know I'm the only selector who isn't away at the moment, so I chose the side myself. In an effort to keep it stable I kept the same XI that played the first 2 Tests in Pakistan.

Regardless of results, changes will be made this tour, rest assured.
im the other selector here being the co chairman on the board along with liam whos away currently and i wasnt approached before the team was announced even being free currently with holidays etc.

Based on the current peformances i was thinkin of givin marc the go ahead in stead of Jason for the 1st test..Marc did quite well in the warmup hittin 51 and taking 4 wickets in 2 innings which is quite good when the captain put gave him the ball..

Ok - thanks Blewy. Hadn't heard anything so I assumed you were still away. If you are unhappy with the side I'm willing for us to make some changes.

Ok, just to clear things up, im back from holidays have been for a week, but i would have stuck with that side anyway....
So can one ask what purpose that warm up match served then?

Out of interest I just wish to query the non-selection of Masterblaster in teh test team.

I mean I really think we should have an all-rounder in the team... atleast in the squad. And Toogood has been anything but convincing in tests and in this warm-up. I just think he's been dealt a rough hand.
Ok folks, I have returned and intend to embark on a post frenzy to catch up with missed time.

Jason Toogood
3 Tests
181 runs @ 45.25
HS - 46
4 wickets @ 44.75
BB - 3/47
Econ - 2.98

Master Blaster
4 Tests
122 runs @ 20.33
HS - 44
9 wickets @ 46.22
BB - 2/45
Econ - 3.89

Those stats suggest that Jason Toogood, who has been picked as a batsman who bowls, has performed better in all departments than a bowler who bats.

This Dev League season...

Jason Toogood
18 Games
1848 runs @ 59.61
12x50
5x100
HS - 151
35 wickets @ 31.63
BB - 3/29
Econ - 2.45
SR - 77.54

Master Blaster
18 Games
494 runs @ 24.48
2x50
HS - 55
71 wickets @ 21.75
1x5w
BB - 5/66
Econ - 2.52
SR - 51.68

Both players have been in great form this season, but Jason Toogood got the nod for his tremendous batting and useful bowling. Since getting that chance, he has not done anything near enough wrong to be dropped. Master Blaster got his opportunity too, but he didn't hang on to it quite as well. IMHO Toogood is more of a genuine allrounder than Master Blaster. That said, Blaster is very close to forcing his way back into CW XI colours with the ball.

What do you mean?

As far as I know and we've always operated, the selection panel is:

Liam
Blewy
Sam_Vimes
Myself.

Not to mention that in the only warm up game in the previous tour he was given EVERY opportunity to cement his place in the team by being batted at number 3 AND given 20-odd overs when all other rivals were batted lower and not given a chance with the ball.

yes but liam was away when you posted the team and then that would mean since im the other co person on the board with him you could have consulted it with me..

And i feel since me and liam regulate the simming between us tour by tour.. i think that whoever is incharge/coach of the certain tour should represent the board on the selection panel as i assume the coach would have far more knowledge and his insight would would be more accurate if he was on the tour...
what do you reckon liam?

You haven't been a selector since before the rebels as far as I know.

At this stage the panel is working nicely IMO, it would be dangerous to change somehting while it is still working nicely, this was a one-off more than anything with Blewy, Sam and Liam away...

I havent been on the selection panel because i have been very busy.. but i have cleared almost everything and am a lot more free now.. Being on the panel tour by tour depending on whos simmin the tour will be the lot more sensible thing to do.. And it will certainly free liam up a bit as he already has to do the cw'a' tour etc..
Ill discuss this with liam in a CWBCC board meeting tonight before/after simming the match..

Dude, you haven't been on the panel since it was reformed because it was originally made up of 5 members, with Sangrah being the 5th.
