Headline - A captain's masterpiece
[Lahore] A glorious knock from the Cricket Web skipper proved the inspiration as the CW XI wrapped up the three-match series with a 2-0 lead after the 2nd ODI against Pakistan. A career-best 143, the highest ODI innings by a CW batsman, for Blewy anchored a total of 299. Some lusty late hitting from youngster Ash Chaulk certainly helped the cause no end.
For the second consecutive game, the Pakistan supporters bore witness to brilliance from the opposition. Indeed, even they would have found a sigh when Blewy was dismissed 3 balls short of the innings close. His effort was a clinic in powerful strokeplay, exemplified by his charge down the track to Shoaib Akhtar to the first ball he saw from him - four over midon.
This is the 3rd ODI series win for the global team and they now have a shot at their second whitewash.

Coach's Comments:
Brilliance. Utter brilliance. Another game and another hero. Blewy needed these runs, following on from a poor Test series and a low score in the 1st game, but more than that, the CW XI needed them. It was a fascinating game, but the team did just enough to get through. On a belter of a surface, there were many positives. The most important to mind is that of Ash Chaulk. It seems we've finally found an ODI 'keeper, though still early days. Of the negatives, the seam bowling continues to be a problem and some changes may have to be made in the near future, but the team is winning and winning well, so ultimately it's all good in the CW camp right now.
