Great win blokes, bout time we showed how good we are. Extremely dissapointed to only return one run in the first innings but i guess when you come in looking for quick runs its bound to happen.

On another note even more dissapointed at being dropped from ODI team. Not a good day for myself, but a fantastic day for the CWXI.

WOW, WOW, WOW...

A Super effort.. We showed that we are now close to being called a world class team..

We have held the Aussies to a fighting Draw and then come out and smashed them in another test.. A 1-1 series draw is a fantastic result..

Well done to Butsy on his 100, Hakon said it earlier, Form is temporary, Class is Permanent..

To the bowlers, you have done a fantastic job throughout the series, and are really starting to build up a solid partnership.. Kennett has stood up all series, Thomas has come through and shown that he can handle the next level, Hoy again has been his usual self, constantly asking questions of the batsman, and picking up vital wickets, Whilst Pickup has been sensational again questioning the Aussies capabilities against top quality spin..

On a personal note, this is without doubt my best series, and to come in such an important series for the team makes me even more happy...
My highest Test score in this match also..

Super effort team, Now lets look towards our next target, beating the Aussies in Australia in the OD'ers and give them some concerns heading into the World Cup...

Absolutely bloody brilliant boys. Can't fault anyone's effort, period.

Any chance of some series averages, Liam? I reckon I've put 7 @ 56 well behind me :)

Wow, we killed them :-O Awesome batting from Blewy and Buts, good all round effort from the bowlers.

Really honoured to be part of the ODI squad - well done to Sean and Nick too :D

Hopefully we can build on the Test side's efforts, and (seeing as generally our ODI team > our Test team) win the series. It's possible.

Super effort to draw the test series in Australia, as Rob said it bodes well for the upcoming OD series. Congrats to Rob, Sean and Nick :).

Yeaaah! What a win! Congratulations all round guys :) We deserved it in this match..

Big innings by Goff, one of the best. Butler chipped in with a fine century and Mamesh with a 50 and the winning runs - tops.

Great bowling performance. Especially by Pickup, I felt. :)

Good luck to the ODI team. Congrats to Dauth, Hancock and Fuller for being called up. Hope you guys go well!

Go CW! :D

Oh and Ponting is my bunny (I think I've got him 4 times in the series)

Edit: nope, 3. :)

Granted, we weren't looking for quick runs at that stage. :p

Brendan, Andy, Buts, Mamesh and Hak all killed it. Pickup, Hoy and Thomas were also outstanding against the best batsmen in the world.

Surprised yet extremely joyful to be in the ODI squad, after being left a bit in the dark on the 'A' tour.

well, goffy im sorry, but unlike everyone else, im a bit dissapointed in you. :-O :-O

haha just joking, but did you relise we were only 6 runs away from the biggest partnership in CW test history! we did get the 4th wicket record though.

haha mate, ya know im just giving ya crap. great innings champ, ya lead from the front, hopefully this series performnace from you has put all of your critics to bed. a series average of over 70. 2 centuries and all agianst the best team in the world.

When do the ODI specialist players go to Australia?

I ask because there's a CW A 'test' on the 14th, which is the same day as the tour match against Tasmania. Chaulk, DeSilva, Hancock, Patrick and myself are all part of the A squad, so presumably CW wouldn't be able to field a team for the tour match. :p

I don't know if this even matters with regards to simming it, just curious on how the selection will work.

edit: hmm, CW A thread says a different date to the website. That might explain it.

Cricket Web XI vs Australia
3rd Test match - MCG
Series 1-0 to Australia.

Nothing but a series to lose and everything to gain for the CW XI heading into the decisive third Test match.

Scorecard.
Commentary.

Great scenes here at the MCG. The hundreds of Cricket Web fans who made the trip from CWLand have not been disappointed. They've seen their team push Australia in every Test match, and end up with the prize of Test victory.

A 1-1 series result perhaps accurately reflects the competition throughout. Australia may have finished the first two Tests on top, but the heart and valour with which the tourists played their cricket certainly left a mark.

Brendan Goff's mighty innings of 170 turned this game forcefully for the Webheads, and despite the resilience of Gilchrist the second time around, the Australians couldn't muster enough against a disciplined Cricket Web XI attack.

Thamba Mamesh wasted no time in the chase, and certainly pushes his claim as one of the stars for the future.
Great team effort boys, a brilliant win, but special congrats to the skipper and Buts, some brilliant hundreds there.
