Who knows.
But Lancs are making a decent fist of this.

As are Essex at Taunton.

EDIT
Well done Rikki - a timely intervention.
Definitely an interesting round. Bottom 3 clubs could all win and that is bad news for Yorkshire in particular.

Then reality strikes LBW for 20 to Morne Morkel

It's purely mental now but this is a severe case.
Keeps up his record of every dismissal all season involving missing a straight one or nicking a straight one - still Bohannon and Crofty have set up an interesting final day, especially as our tailenders tend to bat better than the top order

I watched the last hour's play on Surrey's live ********* of the match. I thought those two batted very comfortably, even when Morkel came back for a final burst. You'd think that how they fare against his opening spell today will decide the match. I thought it odd that Virdi bowled entirely round the wicket to the two right handers in the passage of play that I saw.

Interesting debate on sky between Gower, Holding (West Indian in his defence) and Botham.

When discussing potential openers for the 4th test none of them had a clue about the county game. Gower may have been holding back his opinion as presenter, but I doubt it. Holding doesn't follow CC1 or CC2 so didn't comment. Botham said Phil Salt.

Now, David Lloyd knew all the numbers. Lloyd mentioned Burns and said he scores runs despite his unorthodox style. He mentioned some others. Atherton didn't say much.

The real question here is, why are they getting pundits that don't follow county stuff? The English pundits should know it inside out. At least I now know Lloyd's opinion needs to be taken much more seriously than some.

How exactly are they going to follow it and know it inside out when they're also covering the International game going on at the same time?

I suspect your view on Lloyd would've been different if he hadn't mentioned Burns.

Well the fact that Lloyd commentates on some Blast means he's at least getting to the counties and you hear around the traps who they think should be next in line.

Asking people who are paid to follow the game to provide more insight than the fans is hardly a ridiculous proposition.

A quick look at the averages would have told him that Burns is the next in line for an opener's berth.

Not convinced by Burns' captaincy this afternoon, waiting 35 minutes before bringing Morkel into the attack. A burst from MM at the start, allowing a breather before the new ball is due would have made more sense to me. He should have also told Virdi to stop bowling round the wicket to Croft, who's been totally untroubled by that line of attack. Lancashire cruising now.

EDIT
And Morkel removes Croft with the first ball of his second over. Just hope it isn't too late, especially with Essex losing wickets at Taunton.

Bohannon gone now so that is game over - there's relegation in the air
62 from the last 3 wickets? Not out of the question if they get a bit lucky.
Similar equation at Taunton, although Bopara is still there for Essex.

Lancashire not out of this yet. The new ball's due but Morkel's looking tired after a 40 minute spell. His radar went missing so badly that Graham Onions was able to hit him for a couple of boundaries. And it looks like Rikki Clarke will be taking the new ball, which is quite the same thing at all. Virdi looking tired too, still bowling after 90 minutes; a couple of misdirected deliveries that have gone for 4.

And Bopara's gone at Taunton. Somerset looking safe now.

Sides with ball definitely in the driving seat but Lancashire's little partnership makes their one with Surrey really tight.
