good to see Cook churning out the runs. You would think that England might be playing NZ at the time of the North v South games, and even if not might be worthwile if Cook rested.

Good for them to look at Thakor. Jordan Clarke just missed out after getting injured but I'd imagine he'd be another who gets called up.

I love it that it's mandatory to take a load of spinners to Taunton. Warwickshire with Jeetan Patel, Sunny Singh, Josh Poysden and Ateeq Javid in their 14 man squad for tomorrow's county game against Somerset.

Bottom two playing at Taunton. Somerset a bit out there with the two Overtons and Trego as their fast bowlers and having to bowl first, although Warwickshire don't look great themselves.

This Cook guy looks like he might be quite good, is pretty huge for Essex having him around this long.

Has Jack Brooks' batting really come on? Career average of ~17, but averaged ~28 last county season and on track for a career best right now

Edit: Was worried I might have jinxed him, but he's flown past his previous best to get to 94* at stumps

Been listening to the commentary all day, well for all the play anyway, and it seems what has been happening says more about Lancs' bowling than Leaning and Brooks' batting

I wasn't gonna say anything but Jack Brooks has 94*

This is hilarious. Given a whole new shine to an overly wet fixture.

I never mentioned it as I didn't want to jinx the hundred. Now he has it I can say it is the greatest moment this season will bring.
