I think there is a bit of a war at Durham. Rather disappointed in Onion's comments to be honest, and it is rather worrying when a senior play talks like that. Yip, he is probably on his way out. Not much loyalty in cricket is there? It is getting more and more like football now.

Get ready for a Durham exodus, Jennings, Coughlin and (probably) Onions being the tip of the iceberg. I think Rushworth will go.

No idea why? All have little to no chance of an international career and Durham will be one of the favourites to go up next year if they stayed.

I agree. Jennings got into England by being a Durham player and the reason he got dropped from England is not that he was a Durham/division two player but that he looked like a rabbit in headlights playing for England. Moving to Notts is not going to change that fact. The success of Essex also somewhat pays a lie to the theory of this massive gulf between divisions. Durham have turned their championship around without Stoneman and Borthwick; without that gigantic penalty they almost certainly would be in contention if they retained Jennings and Onions and others. If they retained Stoneman and Jennings they might have managed it this season!

There is really no 'safe prospect' if you want to journey to a club that are always going to be division one, and most of the time competing for the title, in order to improve England test prospects - in fact Durham are as good as any club really. Notts got (properly) relegated last season. Middlesex (last year's champions) and Yorkshire (2014-15 champions) are fighting a relegation battle now. Somerset are nearly always division one (if that is what you require) yet have not won a championship in their 100 plus year history (Durham have three and we have only been first class since 1992)! There is no safe and assured division one-England test path here. Since the Yorkshire-Surrey dominance ended in the late '60s, the championship has been passed around from club to club.

Would not be surprised if that got him in the Ashes squad. They always go back to him when he finds form, and sometimes when he hasn't.

Yea with Finn pretty much doing anything non-shite catapults up him the list, whilst the opposite seems to have a minimal effect.

The ECB always go back to Finn and Ballance. In one hundred years time they will be propping up their skeletons at the crease.

Ballance more understandable considering our revolving door of inadequate batsmen combined with his consistently great CC form.

Add in he is probably the best short leg of all the current players and it is another tick in his box. I think he will go to Australia even though personally I wouldn't pick him.

If the ECB possessed clone technology they would produce a team consisting of six Ballances followed by five Finns.

Potentially tricky chase for Hampshire coming up.

Div 2 gonna go down to the final week too.

Duckett joining Hameed with broken fingers in the last couple of days.
