Now would be a good time for anyone, literally anyone at all, even the most obese drunk at club 6ths to replace Sam Hain in the Warks lineup.

The fall in his stocks has been remarkable since last year.

Assuming

Cook, Hameed, Jennings, Root, Bairstow, Stokes, Ali, Woakes, Broad, Anderson

are fairly safe in their spots in the test team for July it leaves one spot. No great clues so far this season to whom it should be.

Wood maybe to make 5 seamers. He doesn't seem to be bowling that quick in the clips I've seen on him although wickets are slow and he's returning from injury. Likely to breakdown in the mean time.
Footitt was bowling quick and swinging it but is still erratic. In his favour if you are playing 5 seamers you need something different.
(Archer has put on another yard of pace imo from last year. More late 80s I'd guess than 83/84. Almost certainly not England qualified yet).
Livingstone likely has got the nudge by England to bat in the top 4 for his county. Likely to be too early for him. Could slot in at 6.
Northeast continues to score lots of runs (albeit mostly in div 2). Outsider given no lions games but did score a ton for the south.
Jack Leach. Tests start in July so may be need for second (or 1st) spinner. Interesting to see how he does with revamped action. Rashid maybe. I'd be inclined to drop Ali (and pick a proper bat) if you do pick Rayner (or maybe Leach).
Could pick a keeper and make Bairstow a bat. Buttler? I hope not. Foakes, Clarke meh? I'd stick with Bairstow as keeper.

sam robson is looking in fine fettle at the moment. needs a big season after a below par 2016 and nick compton waiting on the sidelines.

Wessels and the cheating filth himself seem to be having a good swing of it down the order.

Interesting Jack Leach is in discussions. Played in my club's first grade side a couple of years back as an overseas pro.

Elgar scoring some valuable runs for his team and his English summer for SA because think we've got an Old Trafford test for the first time in a while.

James Pattinson absolutely wrecking division 2. By the time he leaves for Champions Trophy the teams might struggle to play catch up to Notts.

Wickets all around the country except, crucially, at Old Trafford where that Somerset lead is starting to look critical.

Stiaan starting to get into boundary stroke-making mode. Crucial for Sussex that he doesn't lose his wicket though.

EDIT : Well he has.

England Lions are playing SAF 'A' so there could be a trial of sorts for Hameed and Jennings still ?

England and Lions' squads will come from these?

Warwickshire : Woakes
Somerset : C.Overton, Gregory, J.Overton, Leach
Hampshire : Vince, Dawson, Crane, Topley
Surrey : Burns, Stoneman, Borthwick, Roy, Foakes, S. Curran, T.Curran, Footitt
Middlesex : Gubbins, Robson, Malan, Morgan, Rayner, Finn, Roland-Jones
Essex : Browne, Cook, Westley, Lawrence

Notts : Hales, Broad, Ball
Durham : Jennings, Stokes, Wood
Worcestershire : Ali, Clarke
Northants : Duckett
Kent : Bell-Drummond, Northeast, Billings
Sussex : Jordan

You should be right about the first 10 names, but July is till a long way off. If Hameed's run of poor form continues, maybe his position isn't quite the formality that we currently think it is. As for variety within the quicks, SCurran is probably the longer term option, although this year may be a bit too soon for him.
