From here, if my maths is correct, a Somerset win with full bowling points gives them 226 in total (203 + 4 batting + 3 bowling + 16 for the win). Middlesex have 213 + 2 + (presumably) 3, which before the result leaves them on 218. So a draw ties things up on points, giving Somerset the title on six wins to five.

If Yorkshire win with a first innings total below 350 (203 + 3 + 3 + 16 = 225), Somerset wins outright. Above 350 but less than 400 would go to countback (203 + 4 + 3 + 16 = 226; both sides on six wins, Somerset with a 10 wicket victory last week). Above 400 and Yorkshire get the title outright (203 + 5 + 3 + 16 = 227).

If Middlesex win, they win. But their poor first innings leaves them vulnerable to the draw.

I'm hoping for a downpour in Central London that never makes it out west, tbh.
The countback after wins is fewest losses.

Whether Yorkshire get 350 (inside 110 overs) is the key battle at the moment. If Yorkshire fail to do that then Somerset will finish above them assuming they can polish Notts off, so Somerset's best chance is Yorkshire scoring below 350 and Middlesex failing to win.

If Yorkshire get their 350 then Somerset need that game to be drawn.

Hodd out.

The 2nd new ball tomorrow morning may be the clincher at Lord's tomorrow in terms of keeping Yorkshire below 350. Roland-Jones and Finn should fancy their chances against Yorkshire's lower order, although you can see there not being much of a first innings difference between the sides.

So in two days have gone from vaguely hopeful to actually kind of terrified that we will mess it up from here, need to break this partnership early tomorrow.

If Yorkshire get 350 and win, and Somerset win, points are tied, right?

Equal number of wins, Somerset have less losses, so Somerset win the Championship?

Want 160 from here. Westy getting 34 is about as much as we can hope, about time Ian Bell pulled his ****ing finger out.

Barring a collapse of epic proportions at Edgbaston Lanky now reliant on the weather Gods looking unfavourably on Hampshire

Yorkshire would win by 1 point imo. Yorkshire and Somerset both with 23 point wins. Yorkshire were 1 point ahead going into the final round.

Middlesex don't deserve to win this really going on these last two games. Playing for two draws to get over the line. Not even trying to win their last game against Lancashire when they knew they had to play Yorkshire in the last game, and Somerset had Notts. Very defensive.

Brilliant stuff by Bresnan gotta say.
