In my ODI team I would have neither at the moment, I'm just pointing out that Cumming has been scoring runs more consistently than Vincent which should count for more. Actually it shows the lack of trust and faith that John Bracewell and the selectors are placing in domestic players who have been scoring runs, which is a shame because if they get disheartened by not being selected after scoring runs then a good talent has been wasted. Also to be fair, McMillan's inclusion was justified on the back of scoring quite a few runs for Canterbury earlier in the season.I think I would prefer Vincent to open over Cumming in ODIs in Australia. He's suited to Australian pitches having grown up on them and is a more explosive player. Cumming's batting just seems a bit, I don't know, blah (can't think of a better word) to me. Having Vincent opening means McCullum can go back down the order and you would be replacing him with a similar type player to get the innings off to a flyer. Having said that, it is a bit of a shame we have to resort to bring back guys like Vincent and McMillan really. Means others haven't been taking their opportunities.
