Guess I spoke too soon. 290 is a pretty good effort, although considering where they were in the 35th over, they really should have got at least 300.

Poor play, NZ get an extra run.

290/7, a great score, coulda got more. But nevertheless, its gonna be a tough chase for the Aussies

All over for 290. Very good innings from NZ although they could have done a little bit better with all the wickets they still had early on. Should be a great chase tonight. Have people coming over to watch so I'm off, if Nine **** up here I'll by seriously cut.

Hrmm. 290. I lose my 305 bet by 5 runs - that would've got us to 295 and I would've been the closest.

At any rate, I think we've done o.k. It'll take some good bowling to stop the Aussies from chasing it down. They did get knocked over for 200 against England, so hopefully Bond can do what he does best against aussies.

I'm sure if you had said to any Black Cap fan before the start of the innings that they can have 290, they would take it every time, especially against Aus. Look forward to 2nd half

Great innings. We lost the plot around the 37th to 42nd overs, scored about 24 runs in a 5 over period there.

Still can't complain. We continued to loose wickets but still got a big total. To have a guy like Franklin come in at 9 and smack a six at the MCG is pretty impressive (even though Mills should be playing in front of him).

If we bowl well and catch our catches we will most definately win. If we can get Gillcrest early and Ponting for under 70 then it's all over.

Jimmy Franklin is gonna be the KEY. If his is gonna get smashed around like usual, he also has to take a couple of early wickets
