Yeah, wasn't anything special. Reminded me a bit of Lee's death bowling a few years ago. Too many short and length balls rather than just keeping it as full as possible. I suppose the fact that the ball wasn't reversing and Joyce belted a half volley for four played on his mind a bit.

Yeah why not just bowl more yorkers? Of course then if they get it wrong it does become a low full toss, but then that is something it can be practiced on.

The thing is, Lee's often good at the death, because his angles aren't all over the (wrong) place like Tait's. Tait might as well throw the ball at the boundaries himself the way he lets them help it on its way.

With a little more control he might make a good test strike bowler, as it stands I'd only play him at the MCG with no ropes and the outfield slanting up in every direction.

Some days bouncers at the death will work, others they won't. So little margin for error at that pace though, a number of the boundaries wouldn't have been scored off someone 10km/h slower.
