Tait's such fun to watch. He's not quicker than Lee in terms of his faster deliveries, but certainly he's more consistently in the 150 range.
Oh yes he is quicker than Lee now by 3-4mph.Lee's average speed is about 91mph wheras Tait's was 94.4 and his fastest was 97.7 which Lee hasn't reached in ages.Fastest I saw Lee bowl in the ashes was about 93-94mph.Tait's such fun to watch. Except this is the CB series, where every bowler has been clocked faster than normal. Lee bowled a delivery at 155.5 kph against New Zealand in Sydney for instance, which is 96.6 mph. He was rarely any quicker than 93-94 in the Ashes. Bracken is never above 135 kph but has hit 140 a few times during this series. Don't get too carried away by Tait's speed in one match. He takes less time to build up than Lee does and his average pace is higher, but Lee is generally quicker at his peak than Tait is.Oh yes he is quicker than Lee now by 3-4mph.Lee's average speed is about 91mph wheras Tait's was 94.4 and his fastest was 97.7 which Lee hasn't reached in ages.Fastest I saw Lee bowl in the ashes was about 93-94mph.
Maybe Lee 2-3 years ago but his pace has dropped by a couple of mph.Now Lee usually peaks about 94mph where as Tait peaks mid 90s and he seems like he comes onto the bat a whole lot quicker with his slingy action.Fastest bowler in world cricket?.I think so.Don't get too carried away by Tait's speed in one match. Did you even read the post you just quoted? Lee has been above 95 mph several times in this series. He doesn't "peak at 94" at all. He peaked at around that point in the Ashes where everyone was being clocked slower than they are in this series, and in this series he has broken 95, just like Tait. Cameron White can not be trusted to land two balls in the area let alone 6.A least you can trust Clarke with his left arm darts to at least bowl straight. Not as much turn in this wicket as in the last two we've seen. White will probably get hammered if he gets a bowl here. Would have liked to see him bowl in the last game though.
I'm not a fan of White's as a bowler, but he's bowled some reasonable 10 over spells this year in domestic cricket when the ball was turning. There was one against South Australia in particular that was very good. He can be quite difficult to get away when the ball is actually turning for him, it's just that it doesn't most of the time and he doesn't have the flight or accuracy to be economical in other conditions.Cameron White can not be trusted to land two balls in the area let alone 6.A least you can trust Clarke with his left arm darts to at least bowl straight.
He, like Nixon are probably just short term options until the WC is over, and that be it.A nice start for england, hope they can really go on from here onwards. Pity Loye couldn't conver his start yet again.
Yep, that's how it should be and how it will be IMO, with Johnson probably playing more than Hogg. Clark will probably be the other backup bowler, though Hilfenhaus and Tait are plausible.Australia IMO should have played Hogg in this match instead of Clark who doesn't look very effective in one dayers. The 5th bowler is a problem and Watson has to come in for White at the WC to strengthen the bowling.I would play Hogg in the first match of the WC
My Australia bowling line up for WC
Lee
Bracken
McGrath
Watson
Hogg/Johnson
