It's just a little thing, but I just watched the highlights again, and noted the response from the NZ team to Oram's hundred. Sure, the fact he didn't smack that ball over the boundary with three balls to go ruled out a win, but he'd just got a fantastic hundred, and the players on the balcony looked completely disinterested. McMillan was leaning on the door frame and giving a very lazy round of applause and no-one else was too animated either. The self-absorbed jerks.

I noticed that as well Voltman, I was absolutely disgusted with the response from the team. So what, if he didn't hit a four and help to get us the win but he got us closer than any of them managed to get. Though you don't really expect much from McMillian in terms of recognising anyone elses achievements.

Glad to see Vincent score well the other day until the point where the umpire stuffed up. He was hard-done by to not deserve a go ahead of Astle or other batsman considering the fact that he looked quite decent the season previous (bar champs trophy). He one player who can be an aggressive opener very similar to McCullum but he has more control. If both of them opened it could be devastating or they could both just get out quick.

Just to accomodate watson in the team why should we tinker with clarke's spot, who by the way is a far better batsman than watson. Its not clarke can't bat like that but when he is doing well at no.4 then why should we change that?
Comparative advantage theory.

McMillan was a hero for a day but unfortunately he's shown nothing in the last week to suggest he's improved consistency. He'll be out of the team when they head to Melbourne I think.

Vincent
Fleming
Fulton
Taylor
Styris
Oram
McCullum
Vettori
Mills
Bond
Gillespie

makings of a good ODI side there I reckon. Fulton has looked more composed each innings, he just needs a good score in the next few matches to confirm he's making progress.

Volty, lets give the Blackcaps the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps they were hanging their heads in shame about the poor fielding, catching etc. They should have won that game and they knew it. Oram was fantastic. Just what they needed to shore up the middle order. It was great to see Vincent putting some spine into the top order. Glad Astle had the decency to fall on his sward before he was pushed.

Hopefully the Blackcaps can get it all together tonight with an almost full strength team.

Ramprakash?

Now if we win the toss and bat first the game will be set up nicely. Without Vaughan, Anderson, and Lewis it could prove to be a very one-sided encounter.

Why doesn't ENG call up someone like Mark Ramprakash since they are experiencing so many problems with their batting; he was named their player of the year recently. And yes, I'm aware he's 37. They need an experienced, form batsman to come in and get some game time before the WC.

Oh boy another England ODI in a few hours... toss a coin quickly to see whether England will manage to score 150 or not.

That's still no excuse for showing a minimal lack of support for a well-performed team mate. It says something to me about the atmosphere in the team.

Im sure after the match they would have been delighted for Oram but even Oram was pretty subdued when he reached 100. They were so close to the win.

I think the team were just gutted that they had been able to get so close to the total because it would probably have changed their entire tour.

Aside from that, does anyone else think Asad Rauf is rubbish? I think we have a new Asoka.

I think brad hogg is screwed, australia basically has said it wants to take 6 pacemen to the world cup probably shaun tait, also they want shane watson. That will mean no spinner,no back up batsmen and no wickie in the squad for the world cup.

Thanks for the reply Fiery, but I really do take your opinions with a grain of salt the size of Mt Cook.

Hoping that england put up a fight today, new zealand to win for mine, hoping nz bat first as well, mainly so the game lasts longer.
