Really? I've only heard that he's been rested for Melbourne's match against Sri Lanka.Brett Lee to be rested again in the next match at the SCG... interesting one since he's up for auction in the IPL today, and yet he's not going to play in front of his home fans.
Sorry, I meant he'd been rested for the MCG as well as the match at Adelaide already, not the SCG.Really? I've only heard that he's been rested for Melbourne's match against Sri Lanka.
Think he is having problems adjusting to Aussie conditions again and also the fact that these are the two teams that play him the best...At what point does Muralitharan's impact with the ball start to worry Sri Lanka?
It worries them, but what can they do, really? At what point does Muralitharan's impact with the ball start to worry Sri Lanka?
You get the feeling he's past worrying about it when batsmen play him with ease. He's pretty patient, I reckon. On a long enough timeline, Murali gets you eventually!Think he is having problems adjusting to Aussie conditions again and also the fact that these are the two teams that play him the best...
The Aussies seem to be the best in nudging him around, making sure he doesn't get wickets. The Indians just nullify him, tbh. He has his moments now and then, but over all, a Sachin or a Gambhir or even a Dhoni tends to just start playing with so much ease that it is not funny.. Must be a hard one for his morale, given how much so many others tend to struggle against him.
It's merely temporary. Murali will back with avengeance next month. Sri Lanka tours the West Indies and have you seen how someone of those guys play spin? They made Johan Botha look good.At what point does Muralitharan's impact with the ball start to worry Sri Lanka?
The other two frintline spinners, Hogg & Harbhajan, are not doing too well either and none of the several part timers (Jayasurya,Tendulkar,Clarke,Symonds,Sehwag.Yuvraj,Dilshan) has taken a wicket so far. So he can take some heart from it. Though of course he is Murali and they are not.At what point does Muralitharan's impact with the ball start to worry Sri Lanka?
AWTA - often the conditions in Australia aren't all that conducive to off spin (even though he's different to almost every other offie), and both other teams do play him well.Think he is having problems adjusting to Aussie conditions again and also the fact that these are the two teams that play him the best...

Dont think it would worry them all that much, tbh. It was always going to be a difficult tour for him given the conditions and the opposition he faces. He has however, so far, done better than his last CB tri-series CB tour where he really went for a few and was pretty ineffective (or less effective than usual). The Australians really like to keep rotating the strike to him (something that his close in fielders should help him with) and the Indians do that and hit him for boundaries too (as that cricinfo link a couple of days ago made clear). But overall, he has done a little better than I had expected and he certainly has not been helped by a couple of dropped chances too. He also seems, in the little of the CB series I have watched, to be a lot more attacking to both sets of batsmen than he normally is in ODI's.At what point does Muralitharan's impact with the ball start to worry Sri Lanka?
