Don't see it as such a bad idea. Without Brett Lee if they get off to a cracking start it will reduce the pressure of having to score off Hogg. Hogg is basically useless if he isn't bowling when he doesn't need to be scored off.
I think they are trying to impress the business at home.
(same applies to every modern cricketer today)

It is a bad idea as it can so easily lead to another wicket which builds pressure here. They should look for the ones and twos really. It is ridiculous that we always look for boundaries like this imo. They can always try and go for more runs off the likes of Hogg against whom India has made runs before if need be as well.

A bad idea regardless of whether wickets fall or not. It is more high risk when the need to take such a risk isn't there. Pathan and Gambhir aren't sloggers either. They are more proponents of orthodox batting strokes more than not.
