Do the ERUB name proud lads.

Quarterfinal 2: East Robbham v Victoria

The second quarterfinal went right down to the wire, and ultimately beyond it, as Upper Body advanced to the semifinal with a Super Over victory. Victoria batted first upon winning the toss, but the move backfired as they slipped to 48-5. Form batsmen Adam Crosthwaite then rose to the challenge with a timely half-century and helped the Australians to a total of 154-7.

The tricky, slow pitch did few favours for Upper Body as they chased, but Phil Hughes played a beautifully determined innings at the top, and held the effort together with 73 from 47 balls. The ever-consistent Joshua Ritchie then played a solid hand of 33 in the middle, and despite a couple of blows by CWer Greg Thomas, East Robbham tied the score.

Again Victoria batted first in the Super Over, and Cameron White and Brad Hodge plundered 22 runs off Nath Patrick, before the former was caught in the deep off the final ball. But Hughes attacked from ball one and quickly eased the chase with a four and two sixes to start off against Nannes. A single followed and Ritchie belted the fifth ball over square leg to record an amazing win.

Victoria 154-7 (20 overs)

Quarterfinal 4: West Robbham v Deccan

Another exceptional allround performance by West Robbham unceremoniously dumped the final IPL team out of the Champions League. They started confidently, batting first after winning the toss, and Dan Rai (50) and Nick Scott (28) sparked a 52-run opening stand within 5 overs. With the arrival of Read the tempo slowed a bit, but by the time Rai departed to Rose in the 13th over, the score was 104-2. Enter Kieron Pollard, primed for another dashing knock. Though he never truly got going, he and Read added 83 unbeaten to carry the score to 183-2 at the end of the 20 overs. Pollard finished on 37 (25 balls), while Read's anchor knock was worth 69* (51).

Deccan struggled out of the blocks, due largely to Kev Gough's best spell of the tournament to date. He kept Adam Gilchrist bogged down, then trapped him LBW with a superb yorker from around the wicket. A ball later he sent Rohit Sharma back to the hut, and the score soon slumped to 63-4. Tirumalasetti Suman was the only real challenger for Deccan from then in. His 86 from 46 balls was crucial in a pride-restoring total of 160, albeit in a convincing 27-run defeat.

Rabid Wolves 187-2 (20 overs)
BS Read 69* (51), DK Rai 50 (31), KA Pollard 37* (25)
XPA Rose 1-26 (3)

Deccan 160 all out (18.4 overs)
T Suman 86* (46), XPA Rose 4 (3)
KJ Gough 2-12 (3), MJ Smith 2-18 (3)

Rabid Wolves won by 27 runs | Man of the Match: BS Read

Wow, amazing victory. At last Gough came to the party. Smith amazing as usual and the batting was typically brilliant.

So unchanged into the semis. All setup for a CW final though if we dont make it I hope ERUB win and take the title.

Great victory, felt we were definitely fallable at the start of the comp even though we were winning but we've gotten stronger as it's progressed, really firing well now love it. Also particularly happy to be hitting form in the latter stages of the comp, especially given that my spot was under pressure.

Hope we get through and hope ERUB do as well, would be massive.

Semi-final 1: Trinidad and Tobago v West Robbham

West Robbham relied on another rescue act to reach the Champions League final, beating Trinidad and Tobago by 4 wickets with 5 balls to spare. With 28 balls left, Rabid Wolves still needed 52 balls when Richards (36 not out) was joined by Mørk (26 not out). The former had proved a key batsman early in the tournament, and called on all his experience to tackle the Trinidadian spin attack. At the other end Mørk cast aside his indifferent form of recent months and crashed Sherwin Ganga twice into the stands in a crucial hand. Earlier in the innings there was little to suggest that such a last ditch effort would be required, however, when the openers - Dan Rai and Nick Scott - each added a brisk 30. But a middle order collapse featured the wickets of form men Ben Read and Kieron Pollard without scoring, and left Andrew Flintoff to rebuild with young Sam Morris.

The two men played well and carried the score past 100, but perished in the midst of acceleration. Morris was first, caught at short cover for 21, then Flintoff was out for 43 to the same shot, again caught by CWer David Kearsley. At 136-6 the balance had tilted back to the West Indians, but Rabid Wolves batting depth proved the deciding factor. The recovery and result seemed justice, however, as T&T earlier relied on an unbroken eighth-wicket stand of 56, bolstered by the impressive Samuel Badree (32 off 14) to score as many as they did. Again Smith (3-32) was the leading bowler for Rabid Wolves, but even he proved expensive in the final analysis, on a pitch where batting ultimately stole the show.

T&T 187-7 (20 overs)
D Ramdin 41 (20), S Ganga 38* (36), S Badree 32* (14), DA Kearsley 8 (9)
MJ Smith 3-32 (3), KJ Gough 2-38 (4)

Rabid Wolves 190-6 (19.1 overs)
A Flintoff 43 (25), DP Richards 36* (16), H Mørk 26* (13)
S Ganga 2-44 (4), DA Kearsley 0-17 (2)

Rabid Wolves won by 4 wickets | Man of the Match: DP Richards
