Beamer

International Vice-Captain
Gayle continues to dominate domestic T20 cricket around the World. His stats this year are:

Played-27,
Runs-1441,
Balls Faced-782,
4's-97,
6's-103,
S/R-184.27,
Average-65.50,
100's-4,
50's-8

Unbefrigginlievable, no wonder the Thunder are paying a fortune for him. I'd honestly pick him above any other batsman in T20 cricket, with Warner a fairly close second.

Warner isn't really close at this stage.

One of the things that Gayle does and others don't is he actually does use his feet well in T20 - unexpectedly. A lot of batsmen will charge a bowler once in a while, often losing their composure and shape. Gayle takes a couple of steps forward and sets himself but he also goes back on top of the stumps as well. He earns himself more hittable deliveries against seam bowlers without being reckless.

really not sure why we switched Cruickshank and Smith around, given he looked better against spin and tassie always open with spin

**** that was a massive hit by Gayle off Krejza!

Ben Dunk should be opening with Gayle..

I think they see Dunk as the man they can build their middle-late innings around; if he opened with Gayle it'd be really top-heavy.
Yeah it appears that way, I was just really saying what I would like to see, particularly as Dan Smith is so average.

Maybe Khawaja or Butterworth to open? Maybe they prefer RH to partner Gayle (although Warner would have been opening).

Speaking of openers Abbott should be after this knock, Khawaja at 3. It's silly having him coming in at 4 or lower.
