You're just saying that cos Brisbane are ****.

Besides Brisbane being **** lol, just thinking that the main reason why I would never attend a T20 game (but don't mind and quite like watching it on TV) is because you're never sure what you're 'buying' when you go along. Like with a game of AFL or league, you know it's going to last 80 minutes or two hours respectively, or a with FC cricket it's going to go for six or seven hours. With T20 though, I live in fear of a team being bowled out cheaply or being restricted to 130 or so, and the game being truncated because of that. Moreover, even with a T20 that goes the distance, I don't think cricket is explosive enough as a game or aggressive enough (in contrast to football) to justify paying for just a couple of hours of action.

In summary, prefer my T20 on the TV.

Not bad points those, though they've structured the prices pretty well. $20 for a general admission ticket is good. I took Burgeinho on Tuesday and it cost $50 for the two of us, but I went the grandstand option in case it rained. Still a pretty cheap night out.

The Melbourne radio station SEN have a big bash show every week. Before the season I was listening and they were ranking the teams and they had Rengades as number one and Stars number two and said daylight three. Had Sixers last and Thunder second last. Feel like ringing them up and trolling so so hard.

Well in fairness the crowds are pretty impressive in comparison to its summer competition (A-League) and are even getting up there with NRL/Super Rugby. Coupled with strong TV audiences I would say the admins will be delighted with it. The Renegades and Heat are the only concerns as they have given their home cities very little reason to support them so far.

I think the next step will be to reduce the amount of ODI's played in the home summer to allow the internationals to play more games in the comp. Instead of 2 x 5 match series or the triseries, play two 3-match series. Currently there are a bevvy of retired players doing the job of the current internationals in terms of being the drawcards and providing the class to the competition. They won't be there forever and CA will need to make its top players available more in the future.

And in a major shock, Usman gets a start but doesn't finish the job.

The coitus interruptus of Australian cricket.

Lol Waugh sledging Harwood so hard.

Mind you, the latter looks like the fella in the TAB who has a sure fire system but who's driving a 30 year old Commodore which breaks down three times a week.

Very much so.

Having bagged The Bash mercilessly in the last few months, I've come around in the last few weeks to commending CA for at least making an effort to engage the youth market (apparently child participation in cricket has fallen alarmingly). However, the way to go about that is not new colours or new 'franchises', but by attracting the best players. The reason why most Aussie basketball loving children can name more NBA players than NBL players...is because America is where the best players play. In that respect, kids are like everyone else...they are attracted to the best 'product'.

Now obviously for it to be possible for the Aussie reps to play The Bash, you can't suspend international competition for the length of the current Bash. Rather, the whole thing needs to be compacted into 3 weeks or so, so we see the Watsons, the Warners, the Pontings, the Johnsons and the Clarke's for the duration. Getting rid of the two extra teams would also strengthen the competiton as the talent wouldn't be spread so thinly.
