I don't pay much attention to Sydney grade, however do I recall Dawson dominating early in the summer with a double ton and another century.

Such a random cricketer to emerge as a candidate.

Still the leading run scorer for the season; has 800+ runs at 90 odd.

Shane Watson ruled out | Cricket World Cup 2011, Live Cricket | Fox Sports

think sixxxers will win this game still

not sure why it says world cup there, foxsports

Just my opinion - but players should have to play a minimum of round games (even just two) to be eligible to play in the semis and final.

It's not really fair to teams that miss out if a team is able to take advantage of international players becoming available in the finals when their availability could have affected where teams finished during the round matches.

Mail has retired from state cricket. :(
would make the shield winning ton even better

if they were on the 18 men roaster such as shane watson it's fine imo. bit different for international players but even then i think the rules are fine.

My attempt at the 2011/12 BBL XI (ignoring the finals). Nothing controversial in my side, however I did consider Scott Coyte for a brief instance. Makes me believe this tournament must have been terrible quality for him to do well.

1. Chris Gayle
2. Herschelle Gibbs
3. Travis Birt
4. David Hussey
5. Owais Shah
6. Matt Wade
7. Shahid Afridi
8. James Faulkner
9. Brad Hogg
10. Naved-ul-Hasan
11. Nathan Coulter-Nile
thought about this as I picked up my pizza. in terms of how I actually think this team would go, I think the batting needs improving, but all the all-rounders have been pretty crappy. or maybe not bad. just not good. wade and afirdi batting too high based on performance imo. so you try to move them down for that all-rounder, knocking out Naved in the process. but of all the all-rounders batting in the top 6, moz, marsh and christan have been the best, and they've been barely passable. moz and marsh played some good knocks but did **** all with the ball. maybe christan was decent. i don't like to think about him tbh. and you can't replace naved with a straight batsman because it means you're expecting 4 from dussey/gayle which is risky.

also the team needs more starceh

but there really is something romantic about picking coyte. i mean his stocks were so so so so low, and to go out and perform like he has is a feel good story.

well it all comes down to 6. the rest of the team would be the same. i'm tempted to maybe bring in botha for hogg and starc for coulter nile, but it doesn't matter that much. thinking about it, given it is a team of the tournament i'm fine with your team, but if this team was to actually line-up in a game against say the IPL best XI I'd want to squeeze in an all-rounder somehow, but it'd probably just be botha thinking about it

Pleasing to hear that. just quietly, does anyone know who gets the home game if Stars and Sixers were to win. Sixers finished higher but Stars would be knocking off no 1

Massive game tonight. Gibbs a key wicket early, he has been in terrific form throughout the tournament. Started well again this evening, giving Bird a proper belting.

This would've been a better game with the Heat in it tbh. Starting to hit form as opposed to the wobbly Stars.
