Still deserves a spot in the Shield team TBH. I don't understand your gripe with him, close to the most consistent spinner in Australia over the past 5 years.

If, in a domestic competition, 2 wickets at an average of 53.5 with an economy rate of 11.06 can place him in the top 20 spinners in Australia, then our spinning pool is beyond shallow.

I don't harbour any ill toward the man, but because he warrants shield selection, doesn't mean he should play in t20. His style of bowling doesn't suit it, partly because shield =/= big bash.

Without checking his statistics, McGain has been one of the best Twenty20 spinners in this country. Not a great record thus far in 11/12, however worth selection based on prior record and form in the futures league.

My attempt at the 2011/12 BBL XI (ignoring the finals). Nothing controversial in my side, however I did consider Scott Coyte for a brief instance. Makes me believe this tournament must have been terrible quality for him to do well.

well if nev goes down with injury - or gets deservedly picked for Aus - on the eve of the shield final there's no clear replacement. I mean we've surely got over smith, although he has been a fixture in the 2nd XI this season, so it makes sense to test the waters with David Dawson. So yeah, he's a chance if Nev is out for whatever reason. but probably only for this season
