Just not sure why the semis couldn't be mid week, say Wednesday and Thursday with the final on Saturday so we have more time for Shield and preparation before heading to SA.
World Cup 50 over schedule:
Semi Final 1 on Tuesday
Semi Final 2 on Thursday

FINAL Sunday

So yeah, that's pretty much the way I wanted the BBL Final to be..

From an Indian point of view, I find the absence of Indian frontline and fringe players disappointing. BCCI needs to open up and loosen up a little, and let them play in this league, and every other overseas league. Indians play very little T20, and they don't get much to do in the IPL, and events like these can only help. Won't Srini listen? No, he's too busy doing...stuff not related to developing cricket! Maybe a change of guard will change this silly stance of the BCCI.

I agree Arjun, would help players adjust to different conditions, for example Raina playing in Big Bash could only help his technique on bouncey pitches. BCCI seems to have loosened up on Indians playing in England lately so there is hope.
