That's a ridiculous comment. Unless you have you researched all MOS awards over the last 2 years (which would mean you don't have a life), how can you say it's statistically so?

I think the MOS award was adjudged by fan voting as well as MOM awards.
I've noticed in most of the series I've followed (and that's a hell of a lot over the last few years thanks to Cricinfo and WCM/The Cricketer) that even if a player has performed better than another, the one on the winning side often gets the MOS award.

One other thing to bear in mind is that Lara hasn't only played against Australia this year. He also did fairly well against the Sri Lankans with 209, 10, 80*. He has 832 runs in 6 Tests so far this year.

I did not need to last month there was an articl in the Indian Times (dont know why I was reading it) about the players getting MOTS awards based on team performance rather than Indervidual.

That % could have changed since then but it would still more or less be 50-50.

I was just getting on to that...

He's been in amazing form of late, even better than Ponting, so that is why he is top the PWC ratings, and his average is back over 50...

That must be an interesting article Eclipse. I'd like to have a read sometime. Do you have a date?

It was an Indian news paper if it's not the times try one of the other ones.

I dont know how you are going to get a copy of it though unless it's online (probably is)

I agree with that he certainly deserves his top spot after his great tour of Sri Lanka.

i agree with that, although if he hadn't toured Sri Lanka, i would have thought otherwise.

If Ponting over comes Harbhajan this summer, then I will be fully convinced that he could and probably will be a great player. It shouldnt be that hard, Harbhajan is a finger spinner and outside of Adelaide and the SCG, he will be ineffective.

I think he was just out of form at that time. The same can be said of Rahul Dravid. Although he did well against Aus in India but if he can perform well in Australia then he can be considered as one of the greats as that has been the only place where he struggled.

Dravid will definitely perform better in Australia this time. Also, Ponting will probably tackle Harb better in Australia rather than in India.

is laxman playing?
His place is not settled yet. 4-5 batsman are in contention for that single place. It depends on his performances against NZ.

Sehwag ( May drop down the order)
Yuvraj
Badani
Kaif
