***official***Bangladesh tour of india - 19september -12 october 2024

Shri

Mr. Glass
Vaibhav Arora is younger taller & twice the swing bowler Mukesh is.
he plays his home games in dharamshala

also not sure if he plays plate division cricket, which would mean we know nothing about his skill level until he plays actual cricket

Billion people don't play cricket. Talent pool is bigger but it is region centric & I am sure Indian HDI indicates that cricket is still pretty much a luxury sport played by few.
North East, North West & Eastern India don't think produce many players nor they have good infrastructure to play cricket.
As Indian HDI improves people will further move away from cricket to other sports.
naah.

with increase in pci/hdi, talent pool also increases.

akash deep, parag from east/northeast.

cricket will also improve as will other sports (as has happened in past 20 years)

Slower than the previous match. I Guess he is not trying to bowl fast for obvious reasons.

One of those potential picks if we are looking at swing bowler specifically. Indians don't produce taller swing bowlers who bowl at good clip & hence we struggle in places like Eng and NZ.
Seam bowlers are easier to find in Ranji circuit.

Isn’t it the opposite. We’ve always had bowlers who could swing the ball and do a job in England. We struggled in Aus where we had no one that could make use of the bounce.

Things may change though.

I remember we picked Pankaj Singh in England &, he was a seam bowler at best & wasn't impressive.
Only Bhuvi as genuine swing bowler comes to mind who did well.
Shami a out and out seam bowler who kinda beats the edge a lot with lesser success rate.
Siraj with his wobble seam variation does well as England is best suited place for that.

Indians since 2003 have done well in Australia except in 2012 when legendary Lord Vinay Kumar with his 125ks thunderbolts was getting wrecked by Warner.
Our struggles in NZ and Eng are well documented in fact. We have only won like 2 test in 4 decades in NZ.

India has only played 4 Tests in NZ in the last 15 years. Even if you go back 40+ years, India has only played 15 Tests in NZ and about half of these tests have been drawn.

Meanwhile since 2000,
India's won 6 out of 26 Tests vs England away
India's won 6 out of 24 Tests vs Australia away

I don't see much difference in India's record in any of these nations. Pretty similar across the board.

Umesh, Bhuvi, PK, RP all did well at various points.

Bumrah has pretty great average as a bowler everywhere too but notice he averages in mid 40's in NZ in 2 tests both Basin and Christchurch were green mambas for the most part.
These are the conditions which a genuine tall swing bowler with higher release point works.

*32. Bumrah averages 32 across the two matches in NZ.

32.

40 must be VS NZ including WTC final.

NZ first match was poor but was first match after injury.

second match was good.

Expect him to correct the VS NZ record this month.

I think a better comparison would be post Kohli captaincy cause that's when India actually had a good fast bowling attack.

Aus - 4 of 8
Eng - 3 of 10
SA - 3 of 8
NZ - 0 of 2

In Ind

Aus - 2 of 8
