*Official* Bangladesh in Zimbabwe

Both openers gone to poor shots. The real stud batting lineup comes out now though. Bangers have a huge task in their hands.

This is a nice Test ground.

Man I wish Bangers were batting, can't support Zims batsman or Bangers bowlers at all.

Very nice Test ground.

Mazakadza is batting nicely, shades of Punter with some of his stroke play.

Bangladesh's love of bowling Razzak is baffling. He's a Yardy-esque bowler. He has way more overs in his short Test career than Mahmudullah, yet has taken fewer wickets at twice the average. Plus Mahmudullah is better for balance because he spins it other way to Shakib who has a bit of quality there. Also Ashrafail there again.

Zimbabwe's tail is epic btw.

Agree with all this.

Razzak is a fine ODI bowler but he is so rubbish in Tests. Ashraful has taken a lot of wickets domestically lately so I had been wondering if he was going to be played as an allrounder.

... Not that Bangladesh need more allrounders.

Why has Siddique been dropped for Ashraful? Siddique has been one of Bangladesh's best bats in the test match format over the last 18 months yet they still manage to find a reason to bring back Ashraful.

Haha yeah that seems pretty stupid; perhaps he's injured?

I mean, if they wanted to pick Ashraful ahead of Nafees I'd disagree with it but meh, I'd understand it. Dropping Siddique makes little sense though. It's probably a Law thing - every new Bangladesh coach always wants to have their own turn at trying to make a player out of Ashraful.

I'd hope that Siddique is injured otherwise his confidence will take a hammering imo.

I've given up bothering about Ashraful's continuous inclusion in the team. Maybe Bangladesh like playing with 10 players.

The Aus A tour helped out Zimbabwe a lot. Bangladesh ares the ones that are looking like they haven't played Tests for 6 years here.

If Hamilton tons up later this afternoon it would be 10 years since he last scored a test hundred (as a 17 year old debutant). Has anyone gone that long without scoring a test 100?

Great first day from Zim. Could have got a fair few more runs, especially considering how easy Hamilton made batting look but safety first.

Bangladesh have only 1 frontline bowling who averages under 65 with the ball. What a joke.

TBF, Razzak averages 15 (with 53 wickets) against Zim in ODIs, so they probably thought he might have the wood on them.

Right on the Zim tail, ridiculously long if Ray Price is going to bat 8. Someone in the Bangladeshi attack (most likely Razzak) will get free wickets.
