Haven't caught up with the highlights of the second day yet, but watched the opening day of the Test. Was hugely disappointed in Bangladesh's attack, even the wickets were symptomatic of numerous balls they sent down, short, wide and asking to be spanked to the boundary. It was only the fact the shots were very poorly executed that meant Bangladesh had any success at all.
Vusi Sibanda looked the pick of the batsmen, he played a couple of gorgeous on-drives, and looked set for three figures, till he just threw his hands at a wide one.
From the highlights you could see there was some assistance in the pitch, a couple that Robiul bowled went like leg breaks, but they didn't seem to persevere with pitching the ball up and accepting the occasional drive for four. I hoped for Bangladesh it was just on off-day, and they seemed to hit back strongly with the ball today, presumably a much more disciplined effort combined with a long Zimbabwean tail.
Zimbabwe hit back well, picking up three wickets, the important one of Tamim amongst them. Have heard people talking up the Zim opening bowlers. I've seen Jarvis play in the short form and was impressed with his pace even though he was a touch wayward. Interested to see how he goes in this Test.
